It could be due to the encoder strip (transparent strip found behind the cartridge carrier - responsible for the movement of the cartridge carrier along its assembly) not seated properly. Try to open the printer cover and access the cartridge area. Make sure the encoder strip is not loose and still in its proper place.

Hp f380 error code C0840001

Hi
Have you tried resetting the printer ?
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Simply turn printer off. Open door. With a flashlite, look inside to the right side where you'll see a small tray that slides forward and backwards. This is the cartridge cleaner. Push the tray forward (away from you) until it stops then move it backwards until the little black tab on the right is 1/2 inch from the metal part of the carriage. Close the door. Turn printer on. All done. Print something.

All lights keep blinking!tried unplugging and reinstalling.Dead?

If the Resume c00121686.jpg light continues to blink and the print cartridge cradle does not move to the right side of the printer, try these solutions:
  • Remove and reinstall the print cartridges. Verify that the print cartridges are in the print cartridge cradle before pushing them forward into position.
  • Verify that no obstruction prevents the print cartridge cradle from moving freely on the rod.
  • Verify that the vinyl tape has been removed from each of the print cartridges.
If the problem persists, contact HP Customer Care.

Put new ink cartridge and can't install

Replacing your cartridge:
  1. Make sure the printer is switched on.
  2. Pull the operator panel forward and open the cartridge access door. (Note: The cartridge carrier moves to the loading position, unless the printer is busy).
  3. Pull the old cartridge forward and then lift it out.
  4. If the cartridge is new, remove only the sticker or transparent tape on the bottom of the Cartridge.
  5. Insert the cartridges into the carrier and push back firmly until they snap securely into place.
  6. Close the cartridge access door and the operator panel.
  7. From the operator panel, press Options to select the cartridges that were changed.
  8. Press Start (Start/Yes), Options to select the cartridge type installed.
  9. Press Start (Start/Yes).
