Check you have the correct Operating system and that you have the original game. If you are running the game on a machine with Vista or Win 7 you will have problems. Check this link to see if you have the spec required.

Medieval Lords will not start on vista ... how do I start it?

The game is most likely not compatible with Vista. First port of call should be to try to run the game in compatibility mode, to do this all you have to do is right click on the shortcut on the desktop, click on "Properties" and then goto the "Compatabilty" tab then select the "Compatability Mode" option and from the drop down menu select "Windows XP". Try to launch the game again, if this doesn't work then try re-installing the game.

Hello there

Yes! things I did which together made it work...
Update your graphics card drivers
Go to the GSP / Avantsoft website and look up the game in their FAQs
There is file to Download www.gspsupport.co.uk/media/patches/Medieval_Lords.exe

1. Save the file Medieval_Lords.exe to your Desktop

2. Right click on the Medieval_Lords.exe on your desktop and left click 'Cut'

3. Go to Start ' Run, type in or Browse to C:\Program Files\Monte Cristo\Medieval Lords and click on OK

4. Please right click in this folder and left click 'Paste', this will ask you to replace the Medieval_Lords.exe , click 'Yes' .

NB If it doesn't ask you to replace it (i.e. the origional wasn't there, then look in one of the subfolders - Mine was in /Bin. Replace that and run it from there.

2. Right click on the Medieval_Lords.exe on your desktop and left click 'Cut'

Medieval lords not running

Hello wilsonpaul74

As far as I know, there isn't a patch for Windows 7. Have you tried running it in compatibility mode? There are two ways to do this:

OPTION 1 - TROUBLESHOOT COMPATIBILITY

1. Right click on the programs shortcut, .EXE file, or installation program, and click on Troubleshoot compatibility. N.B. You will not have the Troubleshoot compatibility option available for pinned items in the Start Menu or on the Task Bar.

2. The wizard will now give you a list of options to choose from. Try each individual option, following the on-screen instructions.

If this doesn't work, you can try the following option.

OPTION 2 - THROUGH THE PROPERTIES PAGE

1. Right click on the programs shortcut, .EXE file, or installation program.

2. Click on Properties.

3. Click on the Compatibility tab.

4. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box.

5. Click on the drop-down menu arrow, and select which version of Windows the game was made for. N.B. Always pick the latest Windows version the game was made for a better chance of it running properly.

I hope this helps. If you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.
