My drive is not reading dvd's although it reads cd's and can burn both cd's & dvd's
My DVD LITE ON DVDRW LH-20AIP doesn't read DVDs though it does read the CD Roms. I have updated the drivers from the LITE ON website but that doesn't seem to work. I tried opening the disc with the VLC Media Player, DIVX Player and DVDX Player Pro. But no positive results. Can anyone help

hi,there is no problem in drivers .
check the hardware parts
there are 2 possibilities in your case
1.the laser beam which reads the dvd or cds is malfunctioning
2.ensure that the cable & buses are properly connected
..
in case laser beam is damaged you got to get it repaired for proper functioning

Clean the cd with water and shampoo if it is having too much scratch. Try after drying. Is that helping?

YES? Then you better replace the drive if it is under warranty.

hmmm...go to control panel and 'see' if you can detect that item through operating system..system/device manager will show you if the drive is 'active' or not..
Have you checked device manager to see if you have a yellow checkmark on your DVD./CD drives? if ok, sounds to me like the maker of the LH-20A1l BLO5 either needs to fix your problem or replace it. The Nero 7 should enable it to work correctly.
