Autofocus My autofocus does not work. When I push the button it initially appears to be working as the red and green lines come up and move around. Then the screen goes black and an error message comes up.

There are two IC's in your set that need to be replaced. These are convergence IC's. They have stk letters and some numbers on them and they stand up on a metal heat sink. If you know how to unsolder and solder on solid state printed circuit boards then you can replace them as long as you are carefull. These solid state sets are really super unforgiving if you slip and touch or short something together as there is still voltage in them even when they are unplugged. if you havew no electronics training, I would recommend that you seek out a trained tech to repair this set for you. It should not exceed more the a few hundred bucks and some peeps do it for even less.

Cannon sx160 is, says ISO start tracking AF, what does this mean?

AF, in this context, refers to autofocus. Using the autofocus function of a camera, you're allowing the focus motor to adjust to change focus instead of manually moving it yourself. When working in the autofocus setting, you can also often select the focusing mode as well.

I can't find object in dark. Though the camera should identify (may be red ray focus) the object to take snap. In manually I set up all the possible way but in vain. Could you pls. give me a set up...

Yes, the camera does attempt to illuminate the area to allow autofocus, but the darker it is, the harder it is for autofocus to work. This is a problem even with high-end SLRs.
Usually the center focus point is the strongest and focusing works best when there is a strong vertical line.

There isn't a complete solution, but you there are a couple of work-arounds If you have a camera with manual focus, then use manual focus Point the center focus point on an edge, depress the shutter button 1/2 way to focus, then re-frame the picture.

My tv has red and green lines going through it..does this mean its broken? And is there anyway of fixing it?

This is the autofocus circuit or known as the convergence circuit. The circuit could be out of adjustment, or simply failed completely. You can check that any autofocus is not working for the menu images, or check that the autofocus is off, and turn it back on. Otherwise you need to change this circuit or try adjusting the screws to see that you can bring it back to focus yourself.

Autofocus

Reset.

Press and Hold the INFO button near the trigger and 'I' button at left side bottom for few seconds. Once the information appears on the LCD screen, your autofocus should be working.

Orelse, carry it to an authorised service centre.

I have an Olumpus d-535 camera that does not Autofocus well.

Try pushing the Shutter halfway down until you get a green "go" indication, and take the pic. This forces the camera to focus, and is something you often have to do with these point and shoot automatic focusing cameras.

Nikon D300 - Auto focus point won't move. Autofocus doesn't work.

The lock that's around the 4-way button that moves the AF point will stop it from moving. The AF switch (says C,S,M) on the body below the lens release button gets knocked to manual and turns off the AF

Autofocus is not working

Out of the box, I couldn't get a center focus shot. Out of desperation I reset the camera (push info and magnify buttons at the same time). That solved the problem.

Autoocus doesn't work

The first thing to check is that autofocus is enabled on the camera body.

The auto/manual focus selector switch is located on the front of the camera, just below the lens release button (on the left side as you look through the view finder). Make sure that the white dot on the selector lines up with the white dot under the AF (autofocus).

If this does not solve the problem, make sure that your lenses are set to autofocus mode as well.

Convergence

You need a remote that can produce the "DISPLAY" button on the Sony remote in order to get in service mode....(you could also carefully move the centering rings on the red CRT to line it up with the green CRT)
