The TV is only 2 years old it worked fine till one day after work I came home and it would not turn on. What would cause this and how much am I going to spend if I cant fix it myself? HELP PLEASE!!!

Re: No power to my tv
The reason could have been a power surge(lost power in the whole house while you were out)or a lightning strike specially if you have no indication of power(no lights,no click sound),if this is the case you can start by checking the main fuse and it should be close to where the power cord comes in the tv,if the fuse is black you can expect more damage ahead and it will blow up again as soon as you replace it,if the fuse is not black replace it with the same kind and try it,if the unit does not power up you will need the assistance of a service technician to diagnose the problem.

check make sure you have power
check the power strip is working
check electrical and power cords
unplug the tv from the wall and remove the plug from the tv
inspect the wire or plug connectors and plug areas
check the batteries for the remote, if not sure replace them all
go to fuse panel reset breaker, trip and reset breaker
than reconnect everything and try turning tv on
see if you can find reset button, push to reset
find out if the tv has a fuse, check the fuse
after all that a new tv/ see if it worth repairing most of the time it cheaper to buy new one or a referbushed unit.
once you have front panel in the tv and this one shows power channel +- volumen +- menu then your tv has to work with those ones and the remote is a second option to do the same. With this i mean you tv has to respond and at least show menu when you push that button " if no signal (cable DVD VCR) plug in"
Then if the tv is dead you should try to repair or sent it to repair. and then get the remote control and it can be universal too.
You can also try to take out the batteries and push all of the buttons with the batteries out of the remote. Then put the batteries back in and push the power button on the remote. If this doesnt work press the two TV buttons at the same time and the remote should be fine.
