While you were out you might have had a lost of power in the house or maybe lighting that day,if you have no lights and no indication of power at all you can start by checking the main fuse witch is close to where the power cord comes into the set,if you decide to do it yourself be carefull and make sure the set is unplug from the wall,if the fuse is open repalce it with the same type but if it blows right away you will need help from a techinician to find the short that blows the fuse.Be careful.

My Vizio M75-E1 appears to be in bootloop. Can it be fixed?

Boot log is stored in the EEPROM on the main board, you should be able to get a new one for $15 from shopjimmy but it's not an easy job to replace, very small SMD, if you have the equipment and knowledge to replace it that's the cheap way to get the job done. The other option is replace the main board

Every set that uses a lamp for brightness has a ballast----it essentially provides power to fire the lamp----power in to the ballast will be around 300 volts DC in most sets and the output to the lamp over 14,000 volts with lots of RF---like spark plug wires.

Have an RCA 60" rear projection tv (Model: P60752EB, Chassis: PTK169PEC). TV will not turn on. While pressing the power button it will make a clicking noise. Otherwise, there is no picture or sound. Have...

It is the 169 chassis-over 300 different models used it and are different-answer something for me--does it have a GREEN power light that comes on for a second and goes off?

I know this set well and to be honest hated working on them--Let me know about the power light and I will tell you what I know.

At one point in time this was a very good set--I do understand about paying a lot to get it fixed and having it bad again.

I am here to help people and I bet I know more about this set than almost anyone else here.

Tv turns off after 1.5-2 hrs

check the power supply, it seems to be a common problem with this tv. this website was made by some brilliant french guy and it gives a lot of good information about the problem, and how to fix it. I recommend either getting a new board from one of the suppliers he lists or do as I did and get the small chip and solder it in or have someone do it for you. mine is working great and I only spent $20 on the chip. http://pagesperso-orange.fr/alain.mionnet/enii3210j.htm

TV don't want to turn on and just sits there and blinks 7 Sony FD Trinitron WDGA

If the led blinks 7 times it means, the high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. This defect is normally found in the power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
I would suggest to have it repair instead of having the set ON the whole time.
In regards to fire hazards is very unlikely since the latest components are using a flame retardant(PBB and PBDE) chemicals to avoid flames.
