Have added the accurate mixture to gas... the thing ran for about four months... I set it aside for the summer... not it won;t start or even catch when trying to start... I thought maybe a Spark plug... was going to try to spray carb and choke cleaner in it but where do I spray it... can't visibly see the carburetor.

fuel mixture is spot on. plug is in good condition, usually fires right up on the first pull. It will run about 3 to 5 minutes and cut off..

This leaf blower is less than 6 months old and when I used it at the end of the year I did not notice it leaking. I started it up and while I was using it it was dripping from the left side, where the push valve is. I always run it until it runs out of gas so it's not excess gas leaking. any suggestions, thanks

I have a McCulloch, that the hose rotted off the fuel strainer in the tank, I replace the hoses, it ran for awhile then stopped, removed the carb. an have cleaned, { 7 Times} it runs for awhile then stops, Usually I dump lighter fluid in the carb. if it starts Ign is OK if not its a fuel problem. You could check on the filter, I still have a problem with mine, its a pain when your on the roof an it stops. so check the fuel filter is the only thing I could suggest to you GOOD LUCK

make sure your fuel is fresh and mix at 50:1
then remove the muffler and try to start it holding the throttle wide open... if it starts and runs fair suspect a flooded engine, plugged muffler
if not, suspect a carb adjustment issue and then a carb

Ryobi BP42 leaf blower will start but will not rev - how can I fix this?

Its actually the opposite of flooding. Its lean. Adjust carb or rebuild carb.

Ounces per gallon 31 cc engine

If this is a 2-cycle engine, Ryboi are 50:1 check age of gas. Cannot be more than 30 days old. Make sure to use fresh gas w/synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 50:1 ratio (1 gal.) Gas to 2.5 oz. Oil). Do not use old or stale oil/gas mixture. Always use the proper oil/gas mix. If you do not, your engine will suffer rapid, permanent damage.

Check for spark in the new spark plug, if you have spark clean the carb fully and try again. make sure you have correct mix of gas to oil and it is not old use fresh gas oil mixture. Good luck pal.

Ryobi backpack leaf blower about three years hard to start

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

Ryobi blower will not start unless primed by

If it is under 2 years old, I would take it to a warranty repair center. The carburetor have been giving some problems so they have needed to be replaced because they are sub standard quality.

I have a 31 cc ryobi weed eater start for about

I think a new carburetor kit and a good carburetor tune up is in order my friend. Sounds like it's starving for gas. If it bogs down after warm up when you throttle it, then yes it needs a carb tuning. The L screw is the low side screw and should be turned in lightly until it seats then back it out one and quarter turns (1 1/4). The H screw is your high speed screw. Also, turn it in lightly until it seats, then back it out approximately a 3/4 turn. With these settings the unit should start and may even stay running. Again, if it bogs when throttled, while running turn the L screw out a little more maybe only 1/16th of a turn and then try it again. If it does rev then you'll have to adjust the H screw in about a 1/16th of a turn. But make sure you only do this after the engine has warmed up.

Hope this works, good luck
