My ipod shuffle won't play when hooked up to my car.

I have a 2012 Hundai Elantra, and my shuffle used to play in there. But now, when I plug it in, it says" empty USB". My iphone works fine when plugged in, and my shuffle works fine when just listening to it with earbuds.

SOURCE: My Ipod shuffle wont charge

Do you have the software from the CD installed on the computer? Have you tried shutting it off while connected for a few seconds and turning it on again? Have you tried restoring it and updating the software on it? After you install the update on the PC, Connect iPod shuffle to your computer and open iTunes. The iPod Updater application opens. If you?re using a Windows PC and the iPod Updater application doesn?t open automatically, you can find the updater by choosing Start > All Programs > iPod. more suggestions: Go to Control panel>Performance and maintenance> System> Hardware> Device manager> Universal Serial Bus Controller, click on the + sign to see the list of installed devices. If your player is connected, it should be listed there with a yellow flag (the yellow flag indicates that although the connection is there, it is not working properly). Right click on it>Properties>Troubleshoot. See if the troubleshooter can help. If not, click on Action on the top bar and then Uninstall. Leave your shuffle on and connected and reboot. XP should now recognize and install it. Another possible solution. Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the opening textbox: cmd and press the Enter key A window will open (black and white) and will display the following: C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\ Type the following at the end of the above line after the \ Net start stisvc And press the Enter key You will get a message that service is already started (if so this does not solve the problem) or that it is starting (if so this may solve the problem). Then try connecting your camera after you close this window. To close this window, type EXIT at the end of the displayed line and press the Enter key. Yet another possible solution: Open Tweak UI if you have it. Get it if you don't. In Tweak UI, open the My Computer tab/line and click on Drives. A list of all possible drive names will appear with the ones you want to show in My Computer checked. If your removable storage/generic volume/camera drive as shown in Device Manager (mine was F:) is not checked, check it. The drive will appear in My Computer. If your drive is already checked, it's something else. Tweak UI can be downloaded from the following site: Windows XP PowerToys / free download http://tinyurl.com/36n Good luck!

When I turn on my ipod shuffle & hit play it blinks green and orange several times and won't play

The Apple iPod shuffle is a digital music player that contains a single indicator light that relays information about the device's battery condition, computer connection and any errors the device is having. The indicator light is capable of blinking red, green or orange as well as displaying a steady red, green or orange light. The iPod Shuffle includes a Universal Serial Bus interface and buttons on the front of the device for controlling music files.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. The update could include a patch to repair an error the player encountered once before, an update to the player's file-saving software, or a combination of security, repair and software updates. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.

How do i turn on my ipod shuffle?.......and how long do i charge the battery for?... and how do i know my ipod is fully charged?

  • first i will cover turning the unit on. then i will cover how to charge the unit.
-Move the power switch on the top of the iPod Shuffle to the "Normal" or "Shuffle" position.
  • Press the play button on the iPod Shuffle to begin music playback. If the iPod does not begin to play, follow the rest of the instructions.
  • Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod Shuffle and then connect the other end of the cable to your iPod power adapter.
  • Plug the iPod power adapter into a standard electrical outlet to charge the iPod Shuffle's battery. Try to press the play button again.
  • Connect the iPod Shuffle to your Mac or PC computer using the iPod USB cable. Then, open the iTunes program on the computer and sync your iPod with your music library. If your iPod Shuffle was frozen, it should now turn on.
  • to tell if the ipod shuffle is charging. Eject iPod shuffle in iTunes, but leave it physically connected to the USB port. The front LED should be orange if it's charging (or green if it's fully charged). If it's not charging (such is the case if it's connected to a low-power USB port on a keyboard), you won't see a front LED. If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the comment. thanks and have a great day.

1st series ipod shuffle...working fine did latest install from itunes and now ipod will sync but won't play...does repeating of green and orange lights. Tried the restore and resetting but still not...

Here's simple steps to cure the problem if your iPod shuffle won't play and does that green-yellow-green-yellow-green-yellow blinking thing:

    1. Plug in iPod shuffle
    2. You'll notice the "Podcasts" play list under your iPod volume.
    3. Delete the "Podcasts" playlist.
    4. ITunes will re-sync
    5. Unmount the iPod Shuffle and everything should be fine.

If that doesn't work try the link below. It's for the iPod Shuffle (1st generation) restore utility.

    Hope it helps.

My iPod shuffle will not charge

If iPod shuffle won’t turn on or respond
â If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
    blinks green.
â Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer. Your iPod shuffle
battery may need to be recharged.
â Turn iPod shuffle off, wait five seconds, and then turn it on again.
â You may need to restore iPod shuffle software. See “Updating and Restoring

IPod shuffle does not play music in my car

If your car has a casette tape deck, you can get a simple casette adapter, and plug it into the headphone jack. There are many IPod adapters out there - including from manufacturers such as Philips - just check the spec sheets or the box of the product to make sure it is compatible with your version of the Shuffle.
