Your Instruction book should have a phone number for custumer service, give them a call and tell them the problem, they should guide you step by step, see if the store you purchased the unit from has a 30 day exchange, you should not be having any kind of problem,I am assuming you have an antenna conected to the back to the tuner input or a DVD conected to the video input of the set.

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.
I have a sony bravia kdl 40v 5100 for less than two years and i did not purchased an extended warranty and now my tv is down.
I have no picture, no sound just a black screen when i turn the power on, the power (green) light is lite up and the tv turns off by itself for like less than 30 seconds. I have tried to press as many buttons on the remote control and on the side of the TV to get any message but nothing seem to happen. Any suggestions and solutions? Thanks
I'm sorry, I don't have a solution, but I seem to be having a similar problem. When I turn my TV on, the green light comes on like it's powered up, but then the TV turns itself back off and the red LED light flashes. I can't do anything to turn it on or anything.
