Error 5100 reoccuring

Printer will not print documents: when I select "print" from "Print menu", the green light on printer blinks several times, then the light to the left of the green blinking light comes on and the green one goes off and begins to blink, then a display message appears on the computer screen (with picture of printer) with message"ERROR 5100", instructing me to "cancel printing", "turn printer off", if this does not resolve the problem, refer to manual (which I can't find). Help!

SOURCE: Canon printer i865 Orange light blinks

Dear Bruce,
Blinking in orange 5 times indicates that the print head of your printer is faulty. To ensure this you can compare by using another print head. But first, please remove the print head and check whether it is burnt. Some short circuitry may cause the problem. Thanks.

Panasonic KX-P7110 printer won't print from the auto feed tray, shows error when printing is attempted.

Hello,
Please check the entire length of the paper feed path from input to output for a small piece of paper that is stuck causing a "Paper Jam".
You are lucky that you can still print manually as this usually shuts a printer down until the jam is found and removed!
Good Luck!

It just won't work. The light is green but I send a document to the printer and nothing happens. When I turn it on the light is red but if I put the "job cancel" button it will got to green.

Go to "Printers and Faxes" in the "Control Panel" and check to see if your printer shows any documents waiting to be printed, Cancel these documents and Right click your printer icon
select "Properties" and select "Print Test Page" to test your connection...For varies reasons documents sometimes fail to print and the printer queue backs up

Printing too light

Kodak EasyShare 5100 series
Clean the print head then print a demo sheet.
  1. Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
  2. On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
  3. From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Print head Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
  4. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo and Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet.
If the Demo print is bad- IE: no black, blurry print etc., then you may need to replace the print head:

Error message 5100 on Canon i560 printer

Hi You can Try
Same old errors
Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.
