Color doesn't print before and after printhead replacment.
I had an Error 41 on the printer.
I gave it to repair but took it back because of the cost. (So they didn't suppose to do anything)
When I got it back it printed only in black, no color.
I got a new print head in eBay and installed it (this is suppose to be the solution for the Error 41)
This print head too prints only black, no color.
Is it possible that the technician disabled the color somehow?
Re: Color doesn't print before and after printhead...
No, its not possible. The problem is likely the ink has dried in the purge unit or one of the small tubes going to the waste pad. The new printhead is the fix for the ERROR 41. The problem is there is sometimes other things that go bad, purge unit being just one example. One of the biggest problems with inkjets is that consumers leave their printers alone for long periods of time and the ink dries and clogs the tiny hoses inside. Even the ink cartdriges are just ink tanks, I have replaced those many times and have seen bad ones that just won't flow, replaced the inks and it works fine. You also have to put in the id# for the printhead after you replace it. Did you do that or get the instructions?

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually requires a print head replacement. My advice is to take it to a Brother service centre while if it is under warranty. If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer. Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on. Error 41 refers to the printheads which is a common problem with Brother machines. The printheads will need to be replaced. On some machines, Brother has extended the warranty to cover printheads because of the excessive failure rate. Contact Brother to see if you qualify and they may send you new printheads along with easy instructions to replace them. Also please rate this solution with a fixya rating. Thanks!
unplug all the connections and reconnect everything back.also checkout for any blocked paper or any paper jam.also remove and check out the cartridges from the printer and reinsert.either its the internal circuit failure error and has to be repaired to make it proper.
This is a normally a printhead error. You can try cleaning it, or replacing it. I went down that route with an Epson . . .It turned out to be more of a hassle, and did not solve the root problem. If still under warranty I would call the manufacturer (Brother). If it's out of warranty, and you can not change the printhead, I would replace it.
Error 41 means that the printhead is defective and has to be replaced by a new one. The internal piezo-electric is rotten. Sorry, no way to repair the printhead. A new printhead is more expensive than a new mfc
unfortanatly error 41 means that the printer head needs to be replaced. Got this from the horses mouth. I called the internnational tele # at 1-800-284-4329 and they told me you would need to take in the machine to have this repaired. You can look in your book for a # to find a servicer or go to http://www.brother.com Good Luck
