Most of DSL modems are connected to PC with USB cable...
n if ur server is connected with other pc on lan .. you can use internet sharing option available in winxp.

Following are the steps to enable Internetsharing for other pcs.

How to use Internet Connection Sharing loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); To use Internet Connection Sharing to share your Internet connection, the host computer must have one network adapter that is configured to connect to the internal network, and one network adapter or modem that is configured to connect to the Internet.

On the host computer loadTOCNode(3, 'summary'); On the host computer, follow these steps to share the Internet connection:

  1. Log on to the host computer as Administrator or as Owner.
  2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Click Network and Internet Connections.
  4. Click Network Connections.
  5. Right-click the connection that you use to connect to the Internet. For example, if you connect to the Internet by using a modem, right-click the connection that you want under Dial-up.
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Click the Advanced tab.
  8. Under Internet Connection Sharing, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box.
  9. If you are sharing a dial-up Internet connection, select the Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box if you want to permit your computer to automatically connect to the Internet.
  10. Click OK. You receive the following message: When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be set to use IP
address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on
your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, it is a good idea to set them
to obtain their IP addresses automatically. Are you sure you want to enable Internet
    Connection Sharing?
  11. Click Yes.
The connection to the Internet is shared to other computers on the local area network (LAN). The network adapter that is connected to the LAN is configured with a static IP address of 192.168.0.1 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

let me know if it helps.

best regards,

Under Windows 7, press the "Start" button.

Type that IP-address into your web-browser.

Hello,

This is more a configuration error. Depending on how you have your DHCP setup, you may need to adjust it's setting. No mention of what os you are using but if you set your DHCP to give IP addresses only to the LAN, set the ISP NIC address to receive its ip from the ISP provider, you should be able to get Internet access to your server and the LAN.

If you have done so, use the server os to setup your Internet connection. Answer a few questions about how you connect to the Net and the os will do most of the configuration for you.

Good Luck

Hi sir how can i change ip address for Dlink printer server DP-301P+

Hi,
Logon to the Print Server web configuration and begin managing the DP-301P+, simply launch the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and type dlink-xxxxxx, where xxxxxx are the last six digits of DP-301P+'s MAC address. The MAC address can be found on the bottom side of
the DP-301P+ device.

creativetech_19.jpg

Default IP Address of DP-301P+ is set as automatically getting from DHCP server or Router with build-in DHCP server. Please note that the PC's IP Address must be in the same subnet as the print server's IP Address for the two devices to communicate. (For example, if print server's IP
Address is 192.168.0.10, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, then your computer's IP Address should be 192.168.0.x, where x is a value between 1-254, excluding 10.)
For additional information, please refer to Dlink printer server DP-301P+ Product Manual

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!
Appreciate generously, if the solution could have been of any help!

HI, I have D-link DES 3026 manageable switch. i want to configure this switch.........In that we have to assign our IP....... I dont know how to assign the IP........ I have WAN IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway...

Normally most internal LAN addressing is carried out by a DHCP server which issues IP addresses to anything that is connected to the network.
IE your computer. most switches are set to obtain an IP address from them as a default. to find the IP address of youe switch you need to look at your DHCP server ( possibly your router/modem) and see what addresses have been issued. Once you have found the address it is a simple task to open your internet browser and type in the ip address of your switch. once there you should be able to configure your switch as per your requirements.

I formatted my system and reinstalled Win XP on it, but now I could not use wireless to connect with internet

Make sure you have Wireless network adapter driver installed.

Manually assigned IP address and DNS address as earlier (if your IP setting is not automatically assigned by DHCP server).

If you are using router set your Router IP address as your Default Gateway Address.

If you are using Internet through a Proxy Server then Open "Internet Explorer ",
Click "Tools",
Click "Internet options",
click on tab called "Connection",
Click "Lan settings" Button.
Remove "Automatically detect settings".
Tick "use a proxy server for your LAN....."
Type the IP address of your Proxy Server and the port no.

It will work.

DP-300 Print Server Access Problem

Using a print server like this, you should not need to "browse" to find the printers. See what ip address has been assigned to the printer. Once you have the ip address, open a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd) and type:
ping <insert ip address>
ex: ping 192.168.0.24

See if you can ping the printer from each of your computers. If you can, great, install the new printer by adding a "local" printer at a new TCP/IP port with the IP address of your printer. If not, then you may have some routing issues.

Are all of the printers connected to the same switch? Do you have multiple "routers" on your network acting as DHCP servers?

Hope this helps.

Sir how to dlink routter confeegur to one ip but iconfugger to other ip

The D-Link Router is a "DHCP-server" -- each computer that connects to it should be set to "automatically obtain IP-address".
Then, each computer will be assigned a UNIQUE IP-address.
