My DVD, when switched on makes buzz/rattle noises.
I was playing a movie the other day and it just stopped. I hit open on the player draw and after about 5 mins it opened. I have a look at the disk and theres nothing wrong with it. I tried to close the draw and again after about 5 mins it closed - straight away it started making loud buzzing/rattleing noises. The display panel just shows lines like " - - - - - " . I don't think the disk is the issue. Anyone out there help me?

Re: My DVD, when switched on makes buzz/rattle noises.
This could be a lot of differant issues. First thing I would do if your a tech or know how to troubleshoot solid state elctronics is try the easyest thing first like unplug unit for 12 to 24 hours. then open the unit and check for ripple on the b+ lines. if the power supply is good i would then check the slider as well as the return home/park switch. The make sure that the slider does return to home and that the drive Ic for the motor is not over heating. If you cannot make these checks then the only thing you can do is try the reset like I said as it most likly will not be worth the bench charge to invest into this unit. thats the way these things are built, a throw away sociaty

Make sure the batteries in the remote are working (they go in the back of the remote at the bottom).
Turn on the DVD player with the power button on the DP300 itself (lower left). Open the dvd tray either with the remote (press open/close button, upper right) or with the button on the DP300. Put a DVD in the tray and close it with the remote or the button on the DP300. The DVD should load.
Use the arrow buttons in the centre of the remote to select choices from the onscreen menu of the DVD. Press Play (centre of the 4 arrow buttons) to activate the choice you want. For example, if you want to play a movie, use the arrow buttons to go up or down until "play movie" is selected, then hit PLAY, and movie will play. If you want to choose a scene/chapter of the movie, use arrow buttons to go up or down until Scene Selection or Chapter is selected (highlighted), and press PLAY. This should bring up a list of the scenes or chapters. Use the arrow buttons to select the one you want, then hit PLAY, and that scene should play.
If the DVD tray is taking less than 20 seconds to operate, there is likely no problem. If it is taking more, there may be. I think the mechanism that opens and closes the tray is often the first thing to stop working on DVD and CD players.

if the player will no longer read any commercial dvd that you attempt to play, the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. Hopefully, since it's brand new, you still have the receipt and can return it to the retailer for an exchange or refund. The unit has a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. You would need the receipt in order to receive a warranty exchange.

just make sure that the colors are matched with the jock and the socket
in your dvd player and your tv. just make sure that you unplug first
your dvd player and tv while attaching the wires to avoid accidents.
just follow the color coding of the wires and cables and you wont go
wrong. just plug in the your tv and dvd player to the electric socket
and in no time you will be watching your favorite movie.
for the player, just press the open(eject) button to insert your dvd
and normally it will automatically play. just hit rewind (<<) for
playback and forward (>>) to skip some scenes. use the |<<
button to go back to a previous section and the >>| to skip to
the nest section. use the || to pause and the button with the square
symbol to stop.
My friend suggested I clean the dvd optical reader lens inside the player with a fine brush (like a camera brush with a blower bulb). This seemed to help immensely. I'm not certain if this is just a temporary fix, but it seems to be ok so far.
