When I got this TV it originally had a fried deflection board and a cracked green picture tube. Once I powered it on the convergence was way off so I ran "autoconvergence" and it corrected the image... sort of. The TV powers on but still has a very weird convergence problem. Before saying "check the fuses" I have already checked them. On top of that the automatic convergence option is still there. I have ran it multiple times and it won't correct it. The convergence is perfect in the center of the screen but around the edges it is still way off. Is the convergence board busted? What do I need to check on the board?
Auto convergence only adjusts so much---you need to see the way for your model to go into tech mode to fine adjust---about 4 versions of your set---
Google the model number to see if you can find instructions for advanced adjustments--not easy on this brand.
PTS electronics may have the information as they repair and rebuild these boards and I have got that info from them before for free.

Replace the Sanyo I.C. Chip on the convergence power supply board. Cost you about $5.00. You are getting stiffed for $600. It is not necessary to replace the whole board. Fact is they just repair/recycle the boards anyway. It's a racket. Any good TV Technician should do it for $100 and still make a killing. You can buy the part here. http://www.electronix.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/6_308/products_id/9541

The fuse fails when the convergence power supply fails, putting a new fuse in the set will let the unit come back on but convergence is not working, check in screens in the menu to see if you have adj. projection t.v.,if the is not in the menu, replace reg ic part number 215530 on the convergence power supply, this board is above the right module mounted on the black plastic.,hope this helps

i have seen this problem a few times at the shop. scratched my head ******* this one. i discovered that some transistors on the convergence amp board was the problem. solution was replace the convergence amp board.. However i need to mention these are getting hard to come by

Your symptom sounds like a damaged convergence IC, whick you have found to be true.
There are two and large IC’s that control the convergence in a big screen set. They are secured to a very large aluminum heat sink.
Along with the convergence IC’s there will also be some associated components that will need to be replaced as well. There are some resistors that are part of the convergence circuit that will be open and need to be replaced. Most likely these will appear charred in the center. If you have an Ohm Meter or a DVM, check all the resistors that are close to the IC’s and you should be looking for either ones that have opened or have changed values.
You will also want to replace the white heat sink compound that is on the heat sink, just scrape it off, then clean the surface with alcohol. Then apply a thin coating of fresh heat sink compound, if you do not do this important step the new IC's will not last long as the old compound will act as an insulator to the heat transfer.
I would suggest that you contact a service center in your area for a complete diagnosis and repair, as this type of repair can get a little tricky. But if you want to repair the set yourself, just remember to be careful. The capacitors and CRT’s can hold a charge and may shock you.
If one of the convergence IC’s are found to be bad, I would replace them both, if one has gone bad the other may go soon. I usually order my parts from Andrews Electronics in California, they will have the OEM components that you will need.
Their site is http://www.andrewselectronics.com/welcome.aspx
And their phone number is a 24-Hour Order Desk: (800) 274-4666
I recommend the phone order so you can talk to the person about the different types of IC’s that are available.
I would also advise that the convergence IC’s be OEM or better, just because they are cheap does not mean that they are a good deal. I have seen the cheap IC’s fail after a short time, even though they look exactly like the OEM IC’s. I think that the bottom line is that you will get what you pay for when it comes to the parts.
You can also try http://www.tvrepairkits.com/ , I have not tried them yet, but they do carry OEM or better parts.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

sorry but u replace the incorec part , the board which control the convergence voltage on and off is the deflection board , now this board is about $100 - 150 , or if u want to fix it , just solder the flyback , just go to radio shack and get a 25watt solder station and solder rosin , also check for bad fuse , this fuse it dont look like the others , this is a 1/2 watt 250 pico fuse , and is next to the flyback , look like small brow squer little box , there is 3 and the one that is bad is the one in the middle , this 3 pico fuses are togethere u cant miss then , good look
Testimonial: "Your solution was helpful, the fuseable link is open, but I'm not sure what you mean by "soldering the fly-back."

I forgot about that service option. I got into the service menu and corrected the convergence problem. The TV was acting weird through the process but it worked. Thanks!
