I have the same Tyan Tiger 230 (s2507) motherboard

Depending on what bios you have the problem is either your video card or the ram. On most bios's the is a video issue but on the odd one it is a dma access error ie memory.

You need to check your video card. If you have a spare one or can borrow one then swap it and see if it boots. It could be a few things but basically either a faulty video card or slot.

DMA access could mean the mother board has a problem or the video card or even ram.

This isn't a very common error but is usually the video card.

Try setting sata to ide mode in bios, it will require no drivers.

This will apply is you are using a SATA drive and are attempting to install Windows XP:

In the box your motherboard came in, there should be a 1.44Mb floppy disk (Also called a stiffy). This will have the driver for XP to be able to read your SATA controller. If you do not have this "stiffy", either contact the hardware manufacturer or check their website for a download.

When Windows XP setup starts, and you are greeted with the blue screen, press the "F6" button when prompted to do so - to make XP setup allow you to install a 3rd party driver SCSI or RAID controlled. This you have to do within a few seconds of setup starting, so make sure to look carefully. The message will appear in the bottom of the screen.

This applies for IDE / ATA HDD:

Ensure that the HDD is being properly picked up by the BIOS. If not, ensure that all connections are good. If they are, test with another, known good, HDD to check whether your HDD is not maybe at fault.

probably the board is bad or the board is grounded out on the chassis edge somewhere or possibly the mounting screws...

recommendation.. pull the system out of the chassis


test the power and board on a sheet of cardboard...

also try one stick of memory only and set the options for full ecc scrubbing on to test the memory correctly
