The TV will not display any video from any of the sources ie: ANT A or B , S-Video or external. But the on-screen MENU displays fine, channel and input display on screen fine and the standard blue screen appears in the the EXT input modes. Audio from all sources comes through fine. Thanks, Ed

EXT means external input,i.e.from an outside or alternate source.
That source could be a DVD / VCR , cable box, video game, etc.
2) New dvd/vcr recorders allow A / V inputs only,usually obtained
from a source box ( cable or satellite ) They do not have coax cable input/output,also known as RF in/RF out.
3)The dvd/vcr manufacturer expects the consumer to upgrade equipment periodically. If your TV or A/V receiver ( surround sound) has a video monitor output, problem solved!
Hope I helped you ......T.

Any chance you can give me a description of where the PIP board is?
What do you think a repair show might charge if I do not want to do this myself?
Thanks,
Ed
