Won't show cable channels

I have cable in my home that works on other TVs. After attaching the cable to the UHF/VHF connection on the back of the set, I followed the owner's manual instructions (p. 23) for selecting "cable" and doing "automatic memory tuning" but no channels show up on my set. The cable line is OK; it works fine on another set. Why can't I get any channels?

First thing I would try is taking the set to a different location where you have cable and see if it works,if it does not make sure the conector in the back is not loose, make sure the cable you have selected is the standar cable and not another kind like HRC or other and last the set might have a tuner problem and for that you will need assistance from a servicer.

What about your Westinghouse 40" LED TV? What was the year of manufacture? Did they offer more that 69 cable channels on that model in that year? Not on UHF/VHF bands!

UHF/VHF: AIR (2-69); CABLE (1-135) • Composite/C-Video Input: NTSC

I have a 13 inch TV with a small table top antenna with rabbit ears on it and a dial. I plugged the antenna cable into the converter for antenna in. I plugged a cable from converter box to my TV. I was...

You may need an antenna that gets VHF and UHF bands. The "rabbit ear" antenna is designed for VHF band. Many of the DTV channels are located in the UHF band. You may want to call the FCC's DTV hotline for help. They will know the TV stations in your area and can tell you if you need a different antenna. The can also arrange for someone to come help set up your DTV converter at no charge to you. 1-888-CALL-FCC is the number.

Making the TV VHF plus UHF cable ready

If your tv tuner on vhf only goes to channel 13 you will not recieve uhf channels if you are hooked to cable tv. You can do a search for mid band to uhf converters (converts uhf to vhf).We used to use them in the early 80's. Even if you can find one it will only go to channel 22.

Setup will not connect to uhf stations using rabbit ears antenna1

Signal is not strong enough. Use outdoor aerial for best results.

Reception of vhf/uhf channels

You did not mention which set you have, so look for a small switch (usually on the back of the set) or go into the menu and set the TV to the "broadcast" or "tv" mode. If the set is in the "cable" mode, you will not get any UHF channels above 13.

Can receive only channels 1 thru 27 although connected to cable with 70 channels.

First you need to check if your set is in the cable mode and not antena mode,if the set is in cable make sure is in the standard cable mode and not another type of cable like HRC,if it is change it and try the autoprogram to set the available channels.I hope it helps.
