I need to update the Photosmart Essentials for Vista users.

Normally Microsoft Essentials automatically updates itself along with other automatic updates to other parts of your Operating System (in your case, Windows Vista). But it sounds like there is something wrong here with your automatic settings. At the end of this advice, there will be a link to follow to give you the exact directions to follow to hopefully fix your problem. Once you get to the page this link will send you to, click on the link (in blue letters) that say "How to perform a clean boot." You will now see a circle with a dash in it and "How to perform a clean boot" inside a blue border. A bit further down you will see "Windows 7 and Windows Vista" in blue letters. Follow those directions and it should fix your problem. (Where it states that you might need "administrators rights," don't worry. Unless your computer was set-up with a specific administrator, YOU already have those rights.
Remember, follow the directions including following the links further down the same page. They are: "What is next when I have a clean boot environment" and "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting."
Another piece of advice - Print out ALL 3 sets of instructions before starting this procedure.

Windows Live essentials 2011 was writen for Windows 7 users only..
You need to uninstall windows live and reinstall the previous version of the live software.

disable User Account control

Basically old Nero Programs won't work in Vista OS. You need to update your installer compatible with windows vista.

Hp has free software called photosmart essentials that I think come with your printer. Go to hp.com/support type in your particular product the os vista 7 xp whatever and it will show you the downloads for your product. Download the full features or just the photosmart essentials and you should be able to upload pictures from printer to photosmart essentials on your pc.

You will need to update your Microsoft Publisher program and you should just update the entire MS Office Suite to be compatiable with windows vista.

1. Go on HP website
2. Go the Support and Drivers
3. Select Download drivers and software (and firmware)
4. Type in Photosmart C4480
5. Select Operating System "Microsoft Windows Vista"
6. Select HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers
7. Click "Download Only"

For installing vista you need minimum requirements of 1 gb ram, and 256 mb graphics and *********** board should support. First make sure that your motherboard or the system supports the Windows Vista operating system. Otherwise we can not install. Go through the motherboard manual once. Thank you....
