My DPR1260 hasn't worked properly since I bought it in May 2008.
It is set up correctly I'm sure. IP address in the correct range of the router etc Key correct, sees printers when attached, allows me to set up the printer via the 1260 as the default. Problem is it doesn't print. HPLaserJet1018 always reported by it as offline. Test page goes somewhere into cyberspace. Same with a Lexmark X2450, wont scan either as well as print, also offline, Laptop tells me they are ready.
Epson Stylus760 might be reported on line on a good day.
Then apart from that the DPR1260 keeps coming and going from my network. Rocksteady WLAN light then it starts flashing and goes off only to come on again a minute or so later again rocksteady. I can see it come and go from the router clients page. Think it's faulty? I do. All stuff I have is DLink. DLINK themselves are no help what-so-ever, in fact actually useless! Anyone any ideas???

I have had the same problem. 2 computers had been able to print fine then 1 stopped (other was still fine). I use Network Magic as well- noticed that the IP address for the print server was different on each computer.
I deleted the 2 printers on the computer that could not communicate to the server, logged into the server and set its IP address to static at the address listed on the computer that could print. Next ran the set up for the printers on the problem computer again.
Test pages now printed out fine.

this kind of problem occurs in dlink router sometimes & after some time router stop responding after 10 -15 min & once u reboot the router it again start work for a while. the best solution to this problem is to reset the router back to its factory defualt settings u can do this by press the reset button on the back on the router ( it looks like a small hole u have to use a pin for press that button) once u have reset the router to factory default settings just reconfig the router & i am sure it will start working fine in case u still face the same problem just contact D-link or send me the details about the problem & the physical setup of ur router & printer etc

I was having the same problem when I added a Windows Vista PC to my home network. My older XP systems workd fine, but the Vista system would keep printing. The following fix worked forme in vista, may work in XP also.
1. First, be sure you have the latest firmware in your DPR1260. Version 1.24 is what I am using.
2. From the printer window (or via controlm panel) select your printer, then select Properties (either right click, or from the menu via File-Properties)
3. In the Properties Window, select the Ports tab. You should see your printer highlighted and checked, under the port heading next to thcheck box you'll see IP_192.168.x.x, under descriptio Standard TCP/IP Port, and undr Printer, the name of your printer.
4. Click the "Configure Port" button, be sure "LPR" is selected, not "RAW". Under LPR Settings, check that the "Queue Name" matches that in our DPR1260 status screen, and be sure SNMP Status Enabled is not checked.
The problem on my Vista machine went away when I changed from "RAW" to "LPR" settings.
Hope this helps.

Have the DPR-1260 on 1GB DGL-4300 hardwire connection. If the device appears on the network, it doesn't stay long enough to complete setup at the 4300. Attached printers do not remain identified for any period of time - when I was able to get a print job to the printer via the DPR-1260 it continued to print copy after copy until I turned off the printer.
I am not a novice user - I build my own systems and have done so fot many years now. Also, I am retired DP manager for a telecommunication holding firm - so am a bit cognizant of what is and is not. This device is high on the is absolutely not list!
