Question about LGDVT418 System

Tower Speakers I purchased this system in March 2005 and when I put the tower speakers together I over tightened the screw and it broke the plastic piece that holds the speaker together.I called LG and supposedly you can replace the piece I broke. No one seems to be able to get me a part name or number or price so I was wondering how to retrieve this information. Also how does the speaker come apart.I have taken all of the screws out that I can find.Seems like it glued or something. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I had the same problem. I fixed it by ordering new speaker joint inserts from LG. iirc they were a few bucks each and they shipped fast.

Mine broke too...what I did was, I mount them together like it was, then I wrap halfway with aluminium scotch tape (you can find it in any electrical shop)..after that, I just mount the screw and tighten it ..it works for me.. :)

Repair parts for a base that broke

I'm not to sure but what you can do is buy a junk unit and use the bottom from that one to put on the good one, and who knows if another part breaks the junk unit most likely has that part to, usually it cheaper to buy a junk one than buy all the new parts separately

How can I replace a tweeter for a 10 year old Cambridge Soundworks tower 2 speaker?

Its pretty simple actually.
If you already have the same size new tweeter. You take off of course the large felt cover so speakers are exposed on front. Just like your picture is in this post. Then you should see some screws, most likely it is going to be Phillips. Then unscrew all the screws, the whole front should slide out with of course speakers still attached, don't pull out to fast or far, to make sure the internal wires are long enough to take whole front out and set aside speaker box, the on back of speaker should be two wires going to it, maybe three if is tapped in conjunction with a ground. Anyway on back of speaker unplug the wire from speaker and then, take out screws which is normally on back of speaker, pull speaker out, put new one in and repeat steps in reverse order. Hope this helps. Mike

Ihave a sava-500 home theater speaker system i dont have the cord to connect the 2 tower speakers will this affect the sound from the main speaker using the av input

With not all the speakers hooked up, it will definitly effect the sound. The unit is designed to channel different sounds to certain speakers. That's what makes you feel like "you are there" If you have lost the cords to the tower speakers, you can buy replacements. Go to where you bought the unit, a Radio Shack, or other store that sells home theater systems. Enjoy your system like it was designed .

The system worked fine but has an intermittent connection in the main power tower unit..you can shake the unit or bump it heavily and the sound from the main tower speakers goes and comes with a lot of...

They are prone to bad solder connections on the power regulators and output ics. should only be a labor charge. est $60 -100

Not very easy to take apart, need to remove several screws on rear of unit, remove front grill remove some screws on front. disconect connectors remove amp and power supply board, resolder bad connections and re-assemble. I've done several would take me 30-45 min.
