Display won't turn on? You mean the screen is blank? If so it can be that the lcd screen is bad, the lcd inverter is bad or the vga video card is bad. You can narrow down the problem by plugging in an external monitor into the laptop then press FN+F8 keys to get the display on the external monitor. If it shows on the external that means the video card is ok. If the video is ok remove the external monitor and reboot again. Use a flashlight and shine it on the display if you can bearly see the icons in the background, that means the lcd inverter is bad and needs to be replaced. If you see nothing and the computer has booted up, the fans are running the lights on the right under the lcd shows the disk blinking and the powerlight is on, then you probably have a motherboard issue.
