Re: samsung spn4235 plasma tv
The set will need some screen voltages adjusted
on the power supply board, the VS voltage is marked on the panel inside the set, find the VS test point and the VS adjustment potentiometer. adjust the voltage down at least 10 volts, if your not an experienced person in electronics, get a person that is, there is a high voltage on that board that is dangerous

if the band is horizontal your tv has bad y-buffer board. Usually there are 2 buffer boards- top and bottom. if the problem is in the top half of the screen replace the top board, otherwise replace bottom board. but better to replace both a the same time.
if the tv has a vertical lines from top to bottom it may have bad plasma panel and can be considered as not economical to repair.
I have the same problem, currently searching for a solution. Have you resolved your problem yet? Looking to repair myself, any tips or ideas that you have/expirenced would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Todd
This is a problem is usually on your Y sustain board. There are two adjustments for this in which an Oscilloscope is nessesary for the alignment. However, there are two other things that can cause this also. This is beyond your abilities if your not a tech. Sorry for the news, It's not a major repair but should be done by a qualified tech.
