Recent worldwide changes in radar technology means that detector technology is not always capable at detecting these mobile cameras, The only way to keep up to date with the newer technology is to constantly keep updating your radar detector. The only issue is they only have to make small changes to the cameras and the new technology won't work.

Speed camera detectors warn you if you are driving towards a speed camera. They give you enough miles before you reach the camera so that you can slow down to the speed limit. This way, you can avoid paying a fine for over speeding. Different types of speed camera detectors help you identify mobile or fixed speed cameras. They even give you alerts regarding accidents and congestions.

A radar and laser detector will identify the transmissions from police radar and gives you a warning. In contrast, a GPS detector makes use of a database of all the camera locations.

Radarbot is a free speed camera detector that alerts you on fixed cameras and lets you know about mobile cameras based on updates from other users. They regularly update their camera database so as not to miss out on any that might cause a fine. Once you approach a speed camera, the app lets you know how far away it is, which direction and also tells you the speed limit. The app identifies the route you are travelling and ignores speed cameras in other roads nearby. The app can also send you voice notifications. Lcd screen shows a picture of a yellow camera with a ! sign what does this mean?

Blur warning. The camera is warning you that the shutter speed may be too slow for you to handhold the camera steady enough to prevent camera motion from blurring your photo.
For full details refer to the "Warning Messages and Displays" section of the manual (page 113 in my copy). If you need a manual you may download a copy here.

Canon ixus 65 - when taking a shot without the flash on, a red camera icon appears on screen and the shot is usually blurry. Why?

When hand-held shooting, shaking will cause blurry. So when the shutter speed below 1 / 60 second the vibration warning will appear, open the flash, up shutter speeds, vibration warning disappeared.

Icons and what do they mean

Speed cameras usually are located either at intersections or along roadways. Many red light camera models used at traffic intersections also function as speed cameras. These speed cameras will mail you a speeding citation if the camera thinks that you are speeding. Your GPS navigator is warning you about nearby speed cameras. It displays red as you approach the speed camera location where you could get an automatic electronic ticket if you are speeding.

Tom tom 520 insalled safety cameras not working

You should first go to preferences and make sure that "speed cameras" are activated in "show points of inetrest on map" . Once they are activated , go to "Manage Points Of Interest" agian , this is found in preferences. Once in there , select "Warn When Near POI". You should now be able to "see' and "hear" the warnings. If it still doesnt work then it's possible you have some corrupted files in the camera warning data , so try a fresh download. Please be sure you have a backup of all your data before you mess about . if you don't already ahve a backup on your PC , recommend you do it now.

GOOD LUCK.

Speed cameras

Same problem, the speed camera and red light icons appear on the screen but without any audible warning tone.

Any ideas on how to get the warning tone back, as it was originally working but after a few tomtom updates its gone.

"Shake" warning symbol won't leave screen.

That shake warning will appear whenever the camera is in a low-light situation where the shutter speed is low and the images may blur. If it's coming on even in bright light, maybe you set the shutter speed to a fixed low setting? Either way, you may be able to shut off the warning in the settings of the camera.
