Hello, I have a 32inch Sharp Aquos LCD with external HDTV box (it is a 2003 model). No problems in 2 yrs until about 2 months ago, when the screen would go entirely blue, on and off. - Have checked connections. - Cable company checked twice (they say not cable problem). (Problem occurs with cable, DVD's and free to air TV). - Turned power off to check if heat is the problem. Is this a likely a screen problem, a connection problem or some other problem? Thanks a lot Simon

Do the lines only appear on the Cable box input? It maybe be a problem with your cable. Try to isolate the problem.
Do you see the lines on all sources such as your DVD player as well? If you press the MENU button on the Sharp remote, do the lines go through the menu as well? If yes, it is most likely a TV problem.
A bunch of lines sounds like it is most likely a problem with the connection with the LVDS cable, if not that, then a defective main board.
There isn't really much you can do about it now.
Since the TV is less than a year old, I suggest calling Sharp to locate a local authorized service center.

I have the same model TV and the following worked for me. I am using A/V cables attached to Input1 on back of the TV.
On your Sharp TV remote control:
1. Select the Input (1-5) that is attached to your VCR.
2. Go to the menu and select options.
3. Change your color system to NTSC.
This should stop your picture frome flashing on and off.
You still may have a issue with the screen colors. I don't know of a way to address this, other than to make the picture monochrome.
Hope this helps.

On your TV remote, press "INPUT".It is hard to find, but it should be there.Select"TV" and press"ENTER" button.I believe it is on the top of the list.On some cable boxes you have to select channel 3 and use the cable box remote to change channels. Also, make sure your TV antenna setting is set to "Cable" from the "Air/Cable"(Antenna setting). You will have to read your manual to find out how to get to this menu. After that do a "Ch Search"[Channel search].This automatically searches for all available channels and stores them. It will take some time. You will see the channel numbers as it does it's search. This is done so when you press channel up and down keys it will only go to next channel available and not to one with no signal.Hope this is of some help.
