Question about Fuji FinePix S5000 Digital Camera

White Screen Hi Just like JayJay reported on 26 Jul 2006, my S5000 went white screen yesterday after previously behaving ok. I've tried all modes from AF to Manual. Like JJ I can view previous frames which view OK. I've changed batteries, tried to balance exposure. In Appature mode the reading is 2000 f8 and will not vary. Hopefully someone out there can offer a solution ? lenk

My s5000 screen is all white in record mode. It breifly had a picture then when I pushed the shutter it went white again????

Does the EVF work? The small view finder above the LCD screen. You can switch to it using the EVF/LCD button on the right side above the main display. If it is okay then you'll likely need a replacement LCD.

White screen!

Hi

A white screen is associated with no signal being sent to the screen and not a fault with the actual screen itself.

Often this is caused by a loose connection where the wiring for the screen plugs in to the circuit board there is a little plug that can work itself loose and cause this.

If you feel confident about it you could open the camera and trace the LCD wiring to the circuit board. Ensure the little plug has not worked loose from its socket on the board.

The only alternative to this is that there is a component malfunction and this will require a service repair.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

Fuji FinePix S5000

This appears to be loose connector to the motherboatd from the screen.
Try gentle squeezing of the casing near the bottom of the body
This may do the trick- otheriwise it is a workshop job and frankly not worth the cost - the money would be better spent on a more uptodate camera.
