I have replaced all the ink cartridges and the black does a beautiful job but there is no color. At all! I can't even get it to print a self test page using color. (I did this once kind of accidentally and now can't seem to remember exactly how I did it.) It prints a test page but only info and in monochrome. Manuals or any real info on this printer seem to be nearly inattainable. Thanks!
Hi Vern,
Check the print driver setting for an option that may be checked "print monochrome", remove this check mark.

I have had the same problem It is the print head not the cartridge If your printer is still under warranty have the printhead(s) replaced if not Open the unit where the print heads are and hold the OK button for 5 seconds. The Print head carriage will move to the left
Carefully remove the KY (Black & Yellow) Print head with a cotton swab and alcohol clean the contacts and replace the printhead. If this does not work remove the printhead and then with a spray bottle spray the nozzle area on the bottom (DO NOT TOUCH THE NOZZLES AS THEY WILL BE DESTROYED) HP techs have told me this will void any warranty so act accordingly I use a printhead cleaning solution available from most any online ink supplier
Replace the printhead after it has dried out (less than a minute). The printer will then go through an alignment cycle and should print I had to do this several times before the print head performed as it should

SOURCE: hp psc 750 won't print with new color ink cartridge
To solve the
printing problem..
# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the
bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the
cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead
horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure
the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the
carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not
installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the
contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and
wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than
one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap
them correctly into the printer.
Hope this help. Please
