You would need to contact the company online or phone if you have it, you need to speak to customer support and probably the technical department,on the availability of these parts.

Aspire should be under Acer, and they deal mainly in laptops, trouble is companies out source parts making it very difficult, if not impossible to track them.

I have a LG DVD/VCR Recorder RC 897T. Some times when I turn the unit on the DVD door will open and not close. I must push the DVD Door closing function button many time before the door stays closed and I...

d_engel,

It sounds like you need a new load belt. Installing the belt is a complicated process, not impossible, but if you have not done it before it could be daunting.

If you want to try it you will need to remove the cover. Take out the screws on the rear and any located on the sides. Remove the cover. Now you need to disconnect any wires attached to the DVD. Mark them first for easy assembly. Remove the screws holding the unit to the base and any other mounting screws. Remove the DVD and take the screws out of the sides to remove the cover.

From here it will be something which you will have to determine as every unit is different. You will probably have to remove the load assembly. This is the tricky part. Reassembly will require making sure the timing is correct.

If this seems like more than you need to deal with you may want to buy a new unit as they are not that expensive today. Another solution would be to push the door shut manually until the belt finally gives out completely.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Great ratings will keep the experts helping to solve everyone's problems. Thank you.

How to replace image unit ricoh aficio 220

Do you mean the photoconductor unit? To replace the photoconductor (PCU), open the front cover and the right side covers (the duplex door and the main side door). The PCU sits to the right of the toner bottle -- it is a black unit that has the blue cylindrical drum facing the right side of the copier.

On the upper left side of this unit is a ridged tab. Push this tab in and slide the PCU all the way out of the machine. Open the box with the new PCU and remove all of the tape and paper, then slide the new PCU in where the old one came out of. When you shut all of the covers, the copier will recognize the new PCU.

Dvd will not eject from jvc hr xvc27u dvd player all it will do is display the word read on the screen

elsombro is right. There is a little whitish plastic square on the right side of the player, part of the DVD assembly (after you take off the cover). It's about 1/4 inch square. With the unit turned on, push that square with a pen about 3/4 of an inch in or as far as it will go. There will be a clunking sound but that is the sound of the DVD being released back onto the tray. Now gently push the back of the tray forward, ejecting the disk manually. Take the disk out and then press the close button. If the door doesn't close, it's out too far so manually push it in about an inch or so and then press the close button again. Should be fine after that. I think my problem was a DVD I recorded on my computer and it has the wrong format or something. After I got it out I put a regular DVD back in and everything was fine.

Drawer won't open. Says "blocked".

I had the same problem with a comparable device. It turned out that the drive belt that operates the ejection mechanism wears out or breaks.
To get at it you need to do the following:
1. remove device cover

2. remove the identification cover on the front of the DVD tray. This may be tricky if you can't open the tray. You need to find a way, because otherwise you can't remove the DVD unit, at least not on my unit.
3. remove the DVD unit by detaching the cables and removing four screws.

4. remove the two top screws on the DVD unit
5. remove the front top cover of the DVD unit by pushing the two tabs on the top of the unit, near the front.

6. Now remove the tray, by pulling it out as far as it goes and then pressing two tabs on either side of the tray. These tabs look like this:

7. Now you get at the drive belt. Originally it was black; I replaced it (temporarily) with a red one in the picture below:

8. Now put everything back together.

Tne dvd door will not open

These are instructions to open door if DVD is jammed or the DVD recorder wont open.

Unscrew the 7 cover screws and the 2 foot screws. Remover player cover.

Pry the front control cover off from the top of the player and not the bottom with a thin screw driver paying attention not to crack or break the tabs. Just lift them enough to clear the hooks. Then lower the cover withut removing it so you can gain access to the DVD front internal bezel.

On the left side of the DVD recorder there is a notch with a lever in it. gently push on it as this is the release for the DVD door. Remove DVD from tray and close.

Re-install all covers and screws. Machine should work after this.

DVD Door "Blocked"

If you look at the cover of the DVD drive itself, you will see a white wheel. This wheel has 2 magnetic washers in it. Once you have the cover with the wheel on it removed, unclip the two halves of the wheel remove one of the magnetic washers then reassemble everything as it was before (Minus one magnetic washer) and the drive should work perfectly. I have had three of these recorders all of the developed this problem, the first 2 were in warranty so I got them replaced, the third is one of those replacements and broke after the warranty so I fixed it myself (after MF services in cork said it was "Uneconomical to repair" and they said it needed a new hard drive, when the hard drive is in perfect working order!) It looks like the two magnets are too strong and overtime something in the drive wears down and causes this malfunction!
Hope this helps, and hopefully you haven't already bought a replacement!
