Question about Brother MFC 210C All-In-One InkJet Printer
I use Windows XP Home Edition 2002 and have had my Brother MFC-210C Printer installed and running for 2 years without any problems. I recently reformatted my computer and went to reinstall the printer but it can't find it. It starts to install but when you insert the cable and turn on the printer it stops and does nothing.I have tried troubleshooting and solutions from several sites including Brother itself. I have tried installing it through add\remove, wizard and start\run but nothing. I have checked the USB Port, the cable and printer and they are ok. It's saying drivers are installed. It shows up in Updates but when I go to install it shows 'error code 0x8007000D. My Device Manager isn't showing up any of my hardware and I have tried several ways to activate it but can't work it out so I can't check through that. If anyone could help me with my Printer and Device Manager that would be great.
This is a tough one. When you say that "My Device Manager isn't showing up any of my hardware..." does that mean that there are other hardware problems in the device manager? When you plug the printer in, how des it show-up in the device manager (ie: unknown device under HID)? Why did you "... recently reformatted my computer ..."?

It is not the major problem, it's the problem of OS system don't worry.
U, just reformat the harddisk again and install the fresh correct right License cd u use, to format the harddish Corrupt don't use the wrong verson or the corrupt cd. Beuz sometime the beta verson or wrong cd might not install the required program to the OS that support the hardware install in your system. fresh & ok cd u use to install OS cd. I sure that when u install fresh OS in your system there be no problem at all.
After installing the OS system and get install the mother board chipset cd which u got when u purchase the system install all the program automatically one by one& step by step. In that cd all the program will be install automatically that program will install which u system required.and then restart.the system.
After restarting the system go to device manager see all the device r install perfectly. After that u plug the printer cable with ur system the message will appear ( found new hardware) in ur screen and then fellow the instruction and install the printer program cd in ur cd drive and then continue fellow the instruction manuly.
I sure it be joyfull.

Hello,
You try to solve that problem by following the instruction the machine gave you. Here is the link to the manual.

I used to be able to open Device Manager and see all hardware that was imstalled & their drivers & if there was a problem with them but for some reason now it shows nothing. I have looked through the 'Device Manangers' help & through 'help & support' in Windows & tried what they suggested but nothing has worked. The reason I reformatted was because 2yrs after buying my compt from a swap meet Windows kept telling me that my Windows wasn't genuine. For a months it would let me click on 'solve later' until it wouldn't let me log on unless it was under safe mode.
I used to be able to go into Device Manager and it would show all my hardware and if there were any problems with it and then allow me to look at drivers ect.. so I could fix any problems there might have been but now when I go into Device Manager nothing shows up at all, it's blank, it won't show any infomation at all and I have tried everything in the menu & troubleshoot.
I have uninstalled printer through the uninstall that 'Brother' e-mailed me and tried again and still nothing. When I plug the printer in the hourglass comes up for a split second then nothing and when I try wizard it tells me it can't find any new hardware. I'm thinking I might have to ring 'Brother' as even their e-mails trying to help haven't worked.
Sorry I don't answer straight away I do want help it's just I only get on computer about once a week.
I'm having the exact same problem for the exact same reasons - although mine will show up in my printers list and in device manager, but the scanner won't show up and when I try and print it says the printer doesn't exist.
I'm getting really frustrated.
je suis capable d'aller jusqu'a ce qu'on me demande d'installer le cable USB et puis plus rien
