The question there is that, is the original operating system of the dell d620 is windows xp or vista, because it wont work properly if the drivers of the system is not installed, especially if the hardware is for vista but there is a workaround try to find the drivers of your system for xp on support.dell.com

  • Anonymous Nov 04, 2008

Well yes, the easier way for you to get your actual driver for the system is go to support.dell.com click on drivers and downloads, but instead of choosing the system, enter the service tag of your computer, that is the 7 alphanumeric characters found at the bottom of your laptop that says service tag, after you enter that it will show you the actual drivers for your system. if you need further assistance on downloading just send me a message. thanks.

Latitude D620+DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Step 1:

You can check this by first of all clicking 'start' then on the right hand panel click 'run'.

Step 2:

In the dialogue box that appears you will need to type 'dxdiag' (without the quotation marks) and press 'enter'.

Step 3:

This will bring up a new window with a loading bar at the bottom of it. Wait for it to fully load.

Step 4:

On the initial page, under the tab that says 'General', near the bottom it should tell you what version of DirectX you are running.

Step 5:

After this, you will need to click on the tab at the top that says 'Display'. This will take you to a new page. On this page there should be a box on the right with the heading 'Drivers'. The final piece of information in this box should say 'Driver Model: WDDM ...' (The ... indicates the version number that you are running.
