Question about Samsung Syncmaster 730B 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I dropped my monitor one day.when i turned it on after that i noticed two vertical lines across the screen about an inch thick each.the first one is usually a white colour but would sometimes change to a different colour.the second one is always black.there's no crack on the screen.i've changed vga cable,i've tested cables within the monitor and there are no breaks.i need some help
The other thing you could try is taking apart the monitor and receding the video on the back of the panel.

I have the same thing on mine. It turns out its a sort of burn-in. If you leave a window in the same position all day then change the screen to a blank colour you can see the outlines of the window still on screen for about 8 hours until it fades away.

Hi Detrix, Check with www.lcdrepair.net if you want a repair. Something is wrong with your LCD controller and or GUI interface circuit or the circuit supplying power to it. If your technically endowed, you may want to open the monitor case and clean the dust and lint from around the circuits using a Small paint brush to sweep away any built up dust. These circuits take the Signal from the computer and controls the 2.5 million pixels on the LCD screen. Dsut can cause major problems with handling all that data. Give it a shot, what do you have to loose, its not dangerous if the monitor is unplugged.

Dead pixel 100% My first 245BW had a dead pixel, exchanged it. This is why you buy these because of the 3 year factory warranty.

Tips for a great answer:
I have dual AOC i2553ph monitors. One day I came into work and notice one of them had a single vertical white line moving slowly back and forth across the screen that looked like a scan or radar function. I reset the monitor from the OSD and all is well again. Use "Extra > reset" from the OSD on AOC monitors.
