Yes this will work, but only temporarily. Count on doing this about once every 2 weeks. In the meantime, purchase u a large cooler to store ur food in for the couple days it takes to defrost and start over. And don't bother with samsung customer service, they're useless and in complete denial that there appliance isn't worth anything. If u doubt me, just do a search on just this website for samsung troubleshooting and see how many others have the same issue

My samsung frige, french doors keeo ringing

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

What would cause my freezer to freeze, refrigerator not cool, fan in back runs, motor hot

Good Morning Carlene,

I understand the freezer is freezing, in your Frigidaire refrigerator, but the refrigerator portion is not cool. I also see that the fan in the back is running and the motor is hot. Please try resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power, stop the alarm, and press the "Factory Default" button. This will reset your temperatures to 37F on the refrigerator side and 0F on the freezer side. Keep an eye on your refrigerator temperatures, to see if they go down. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My fridge keeps beeping even though the door is shut. The fridge temperature indicator keeps going up and then down. Can you please tell me what's wrong?

If the reset procedures don't stop the beeping and you are out of warranty, here is an easy fix:
1- (You can unplug the fridge just to be cautious, but not necessary.) Remove the control panel from the front of the fridge. Mine pulls straight out without removing any screws.
2- On the back of the control panel is a black, round device - the only thing that pokes through the back of the panel. This device is small, maybe 1/2" in diameter and the same deep. (if it won't pop off easily, remove the 4 screws to remove the back cover for easier access.)
3- You will see a thin round disk inside. This is the speaker. Remove this disk, press the black speaker cover back on and press the control panel back into the front of the fridge.

All the controls will continue to work as before, but NO BEEPS!

I had a 53 fault on hitachi split ac system and after powering the condenser off and back on system now showing a p7 fault. Is this a refrigerant problem? Model no. Ras-6hrne

I think you should check your compressor manually . And then check the tempreature on discharge point of your compressor if tempreature increases then there is no problem of gas .

Ice keeps building up in freezer. Then the refrigerator stops cooling. You can get the ice off the vents in bottom back of freezer and it will start cooling again but only last a couple days before it...

Your freezer coil needs a good defrost. You are getting only a little bit of the ice off. It stops cooling because the ice acts like a insulator over the coil so it is unable to cool. Was to get this done is to empty it out and shut if off and leave the door open or maybe a hair dryer or even so warm water.
I hope this helps.

Control panel not working Samsung refrigerator model rs2533sw. Not cooling.

I have a samsung refrigertor rs2555sl and my control panel stopped working after I turned the power off to the house (to install a light fixture elsewhere). There was one green light blinking on the refrigerator temp display.

Hold down the "power freeze" and "power cool" buttons at the same time for at least 8 seconds. This is a self diagnostic program. A number should appear on the refrigerator temp display (1-9)...it will hold for 30 seconds and then the panel should function again.

In my case the number that appeared was "3" which can indicate a multitude of things including a short circuit or power outage (which was it was for me).

Hope this helps!

Our samsung RS267BARB fridge's light is blinking and feels warm

If you cannot reach the plug, then turn off the breaker that feeds it in your electrical panel; most electrical codes require a separate power feed for refrigerators.
