Question about Brother MFC 4420C All-In-One InkJet Printer
I've had my printer for over 2 years , It's been working great so far, recently doesn't print at all. I changed all the cartriges, made cleaning couple of times and still doesnt want to work. what can I do about It? Monika
Go to Staples or office max or depot and take your old printer head and replace it. The old head is probably too worn or too dirty cleaning it won't work. Also when you get your new printer head dont use the ink refills. It is cheap ink and will ruin the printer head. It will also void the warranty, it you have any warranty left. Use the ink the printer recommends only.

If the printer has sat idle for a moth or so without a cleaning cycle, the printhead (not user serviceable on most Epsons) may be severely clogged. Cleaning with alcohol may loosen ink that has thoroughly dried. Epson supplies a special solvent to clean clogged printheads, see http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/kits/Epson/K70 for an equivalent product. It's also possible the print head or the electronics have simply packed it in.

Try this: Looks like I found the problem: The driver software is apparently not compatible with XP SP2's "Data Execution Prevention" feature. Go to My Computer, right click & select Properties. Choose the Advanced panel. Click the first Settings button, in the Performance Section. Choose the Data Execution Prevention panel. Choose the first radio button, "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only", not the second one "Turn on DEP for all ...." The first radio button (essential programs only) was what was selected when I got the machine, but I myself had upped the setting to the more restrictive level. Longstride

Try this it worked for me! 1) With the printer power OFF, while pressing the Resume button, press the Power button. (Do not release the hope it works wonders
2) While pressing the Power button, release the Resume button, press the Resume button again twice, and then
release the Resume button and Power button.
3) The green indicator flashes during initialization.
When the indicator stops flashing and remains on, press the Resume button 4 times to clear waste ink message.
(The indicator toggles between orange and green each time the Resume button is pressed.)
4) Next, press the Power button, and the green indicator will light, and the function will be executed.
5) Turn off the printer then back on and error should clear.

A recent download of the new Explorer program for the internet can confuse your printer. I noticed a sudden problem with printing on demand and went on line for a diagnosis from the company. Remote assistance is great and all was well afterwards. good Luck. PB

Check to see if there is a broken pin near the print head. On the PT 330 there is a metal part (looks like a U) it puts pressure on the wheel that presses the tape to the print head.

I hve a neww epson all in one printer and had to have someone set it up for me. The had trounlebut decided it was not compatible to my me computer. we He finally got it to work by slowing the printer up but it does not work now. I put in neww cartridges but it comes up with a communiation error when I try to print It will not print at all

My printer is a little over a year old. It takes up to 1 1/2 minutes to print one page. Also, it prints 2 copies of any document faxed directly from the computer. Thanks for your help. Trelby

Open the dp unit and clean the dp unit.. carefully take out the drum unit & check if the inner clips touch the drum.. this can be done by checking the continuity of the drum with a mulitmeter.. if there is no continuity then open the gear end & spread the inner metal such that it touches the drum..

If this only happens when you are copying.
1. Your scanner glass is dirty. Open the lid, use windex to clean the flatbed. Look on the left side. You should see a strip of glass, with the scanner sitting under it. This strip is used when the document feed is being used. Make sure it is clean. Most common problem is getting a little whiteout or the sticky residue from scotch tape on this glass, which causes lines down your copies.
Clean it with alcohol which will dissolve the sticky stuff and the whiteout.
If this does not solve the problem, the CCD scanner in your machine might be going bad.

Delete the Lexmark print object.
