Portable dvd player now plays only black and white

Polaroid 10" Portable DVD Player PDV-1008N with original power source cable recently began playing only black and white. Picure sharp but no color. I read existing info on this site about same but am tech-ignorant and do not understand meaning of answer. Am wondering if problem is in the device itself or if replacing the powersource connection cord would fix it. Or what?

The image on my Durabrand Model PDV-705 is not centered.

read the manual! Believe it or not, it really does help. And don't let him play with it next time. Bringing up kids is also about being able to say no for a good reason

Player freezes partway through movie

If this happens on all disk and you have cleaned with proper laser disc cleaner there are small caps that are almost naked to the eye that needs changing in power supply

No video - just a white screen

So I am guessing you have audio and no video, your monitor has went out. you can check and see if ribbon cable is slightly uplugged, but maybe just a bad monitor. These happen usually from a drop or hard hit to the unit.
