Solid line completly across screen, monitor is brand new

I just bought a new screen (Samsung Syncmaster 204b, 21in) and for the first few days it was just fine. Then all of the sudden there was a line one pixel in width going all the way across the screen. I promptly hooked it up to my other computer to see if it was just my machine and it was still there. Now three days later i have another line at the bottom of the screen where the task bar is. The lines change color when i move the cursor over them and will fade in and out with different screens. This is actually the second time this has happened, I returned the first monitor that did it and now the second one is doing it. Is it a manufacture defect, or is something wrong with my comp? Your response is much appriciated. Dan-O-

SyncMaster 204 Samsung monitor has no power

Have you tried to plug it in else where?
If you did and still same problem then from what you said I was hopping that it wouldn't be your problem, but you will need a new monitor.

Black Line bottom of LCD Monitor

May be a manufacture defect or the Screen goes wiped out during transportation.

Call to the support for warranty issues immediately.

I had a similar problem on a different monitor and fixed the green sparkles by selecting a lower refresh rate.

Solid line completly across screen, monitor is brand new

Your comp's video card refresh rate (in Hertz, abbreviated Hz) may not be totally compatible with the monitor. Check the properties of your video card, and change the refresh rate (you may have to look around for it) to 60 Hz. This is a pretty standard refresh rate that works with just about every monitor. If it's already there, I'm afraid someone else will have to try and help!

Hope this helps, and please rate my answer, good OR bad.

Good luck!

I have solid line across the monitor

Try to delete that picture you downloaded in the first place and then reboot the system.

Samsung syncmaster 204b

Yes. There is no vertical deflection. The circuit that controls vertical deflection is bad. This is an easy fix for a TV tech. Take it to the TV repair shop.
