Mitsubishi will not turn on

After turning on my ws-65511 tv, it was on for only a moment then turned itself off & would not come back on. After unplugging & plugging it the green power light just flashes & the tv will still not come on. The tv is less than 3 years old & this is my first problem. Reset button does not help nor does unplugging set.

I recently came across the same problem so I had a repairman come out to the house and pull the chasis. He said it was the control module but the green light still flashed. He told me it would cost $600.00 to repair. Any advise or suggestions?

    Thanks

If the green light flashes, thats an indication that there is a problem in the sweep power supply or the horizontal drive circuit. Its not a problem a layman or unexperienced person should attempt to repair unless you know about electronic circuits and how they work.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65511 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

My mitsubishi ws 65511 turns itself off. sometimes right away sometimes after hours of watching tv

I believe you have an overheating problem. Unplug your set and go to the back, make shire all dust is free from the cooling holes. This should fix your problem. If not pull a little further from thevwall and put a personal fan blowing on the back. Hope this helps.

My Mitsu WS-65511 will not power on. When power is pressed on tv or on remove solid green light comes on for a moment as if television is going to come on and then it just shuts back off. I have tried...

I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25.

Mitsubishi WS65511 Rear Proj. TV still have resetting problem after DM caps & conv. IC replacement. Any other ideas or tests to do ? Any TV old timers that remember how to diagnose boards ? My Mistubishi WS 65511 Rear Projection TV runs fine for 15 minutes, Then kicks off & has the blinking green light while it resets. You can turn it on again & get another 15 minutes. Over & over, Then it may work fine for 6 hours or more. Seems to be worse when cold. And the problem has been more frequent with months. So I replaced the 7 Elec. Caps on the DM board. They weren't bulging & looked fine, But I put in 7 new ones. Did not improve at all. Same problem, Same time, 15 minutes. While in there I looked at everything. Nothing bulging, burn't, or visual. Something is going bad & causing a over load that triggers a shut down & reset. Any Help or Ideas PLEASE ! Any possible parts that I can try that might have done the same for you. I can solder in parts, But don't know what to try with it being so erratic. Also, does anyone have a service manual with wiring diagram. OR should I just try buying used boards off EBAY & try replacements. I really want to keep this monster in the living room. I've grown accustomed to her face. And the wife likes to pile nick-nacks on top. There should be lots of these replaced with flat screens by now. When it works, The picture is perfect, sometimes all day long.
