I just began having a problem with my monitor. My wife first experienced it, she said a blue screen showed up with a warning to shut off the computer or files could be lost and it also had a time clock that was counting down. Not knowing what to do she let it shut down. The screen went black, the on/off light blinks repeatedly, and the monitor power on/off switch doesn't work. The only way to power down is by unplugging the power cord. I was online with Dell, someone in India, and he could not identify the reason for the flashing green light. While I was chatting with him the monitor returned to normal ops. This morning I woke to the same problem as described. Any ideas on this?
Thanks, Trent

I had this exact same problem. Happened once, then went away. Came back the next day, and it never came back again.I had this exact same problem. Happened once, then went away. Came back the next day, and it never came back again.
I have the exact problem. tried the monitor on 2 other computers. It also does that without the monitor being plugged in.....usually there is a message on the screen or color pattern.Seems to be a power source fault inside the monitor. Cannot seem to take apart this panel.I have the exact problem. tried the monitor on 2 other computers. Re:
Try first unplugging the monitor and the computer from the wall for 12 to 24 hours. If this does not work, hook up another monitor to the puter to see if the problems with the puter or the monitor.

Try the plugging the setup into a different monitor to eliminate the lead however it sounds like the monitors died. With cost of screens even if you can get hold of one you'll be better off getting a new monmitor.
I would check the caps with ohm meter. Make sure they all show increasing resistance. Caps can be bad without looking bad. Check output voltage on the power board, should be around 12V. If all that checks out then I'd look next at the backlight bulb. I'v repaired many monitors and the problem was almost always overheated caps on the power board. Post back and let me know.
use the onboard graphics instead of a seperate graphics card (if installed) to test the screen.if it still doesn't work then unplug your monitor from the mains supply and plug in again to reset it. i doubt it's your monitor that is the problem though. but look on the back of your pc for another connection for your screen. the onboard graphics connection is normally vertical near your ethernet port and mouse and keyboard inputs.
Hi...there,
It's turns blue to power safe mode (yellow) it's prevent futher damaged to your monitor. It's seems you got a busted backlight inverter. Need to replaced a new one...Since you only got it for a few months, send it back to Acer for a replacement of a new backlight inverter... Have a nice day!
Assuming you've already checked your driver and system settings, tried a different monitor, and checked the cable and connector pins, this would almost certainly be a problem with the power or signal circuit board inside the monitor.
