Poor cleaning with Hotpoint NDA300Y 73BA dishwasher

Dishwasher does not clean like it used to. Many things come out with specs of food stuck to them. The dishes are quickly rinced before putting in dishwasher which used to clean but no longer does anywhere as well as it used to. Is there a recirculation water pump that has a filter that would plug? or does this sound like a warn impeller? Something else?

Dishwasher water draining????

Make sure the odor is coming from the dishwasher.
Pull the bottom basket out and check for food that might be stuck in it. And check for food particles in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Then pour some baking soda into the dish liquid compatment. Run it through a complete cycle. This should deodorize and clean the dishwasher. i hope it helps. Please remember to leave rating.

Where to clean the food out

A dishwasher cleaner may help. It usually is for lime deposits but it still may break the stuff down enough to flush it out. Wal-Mart or an appliance store should have it.

Hotpoint DWT10 Dishwasher error codes/lights

food stuck in drain pump remove and clean out or scoop out - soak up all water then fill with 3 or 4 hot litres of water . cancel programme , start new one ( first thing unit does is switch to drain cycle ).
Then rock machine back and forth - this sometimes frees jammed debris thus pumping out of machine.
This works for me i have done it several times and it works

It sounds like your wash pump impeller might be clogged. The first symptom of this problem is poor cleaning capabilities and food left on dishes. You will need to remove the spray arm assembly to access the reservoir below the spray arm. More than likely, you will find debris clogging the the wash pump impeller area. As a general rule of thumb, you should not put anything into dishwasher that still has to be chewed. You don't have to prewash your dishes, just scrape them real well. Most detergents still need to oils and residue from food to activate the cleaning agents. If you prewash, you simply defeat this purpose. Some things that should NOT go into a dishwasher are lemon seeds, orange seeds, pistachio seeds, popcorn kernels, chunks of meat, bacon, tooth picks, chicken bones, match sticks, bottle cap liners, jar labels, etc. These are a small example of SOME of the things I have personally found in the wash pump. It doesn't take much to clog the pump, and the chopper assembly is not to be considered a disposal. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
