Ok you need to know exactly what model number player you are using as there are three versions of the YP-T8.
Once you know that then you go to the samsung site and download the appropriate driver. Looks something like this: FM/200611/20061107201844343_YP_T8_ROM_20060609_138US.zip
Once you do that you have to unzip or extract the file. Windows should do this automatically. According to the directions you then take the files that it unzips and put them on your mp3 player.
So connect your mp3 player to the computer via that usb cable. It should show up as a Removable Device under My Computer.
Find the files you just extracted. Should be YP_T8.fnt, YP-T8.rom and YP-T8.img You then simply copy those files into the mp3 player which is that new removable device drive. The root folder is the first area you see when you first explore the drive. i.e. any folder you see on that mp3 player when you double click on it is actually a sub-folder and not the root folder. So open it up and copy those files right there.
After which you then do as the directions say. Unplug the mp3 player, power it off and then connect your charger. It says it will automatically upgrade the firmware and then automatically turn on so it should just be a waiting game at that point.
Never overcharge a li-ion battery. You must firstly 're-set' your T8 (refer to your manual, or download a manual from the Samsung website - download centre). Disregard the charging indicator, as this will always show 'charging' when connecting to a pc. If out of warranty, then you may be faced with new battery, as it is possible to fry a battery if left too long. If under warranty, then seek advice from approved Samsung service agent.
IVE JUST SEEN ON MY PC THAT IF YOU HOLD THE A AND B BUTTONS TOGETHER WITH THE MENU BUTTON THAT MIGHT HELP, MAKE SURE YOU HOLD TOGETHER AND FOR AT LEAST 7-10 SECONDS. I WILL LOOK AND ASK AROUND TODAY FOR YOU WHEN I GO OUT, CHEERS pedro2
Hey, shilly, first of all, thanks for trying to help me with my problem of my mp3 player being stuck on hold. I was so frustrated after no solution to my problem that I took a samuri sword and cracked it in half.
First of all, if when you plug it into your PC, and it works, you might need to charge it again.
I think that you slipping into the mud had
nothing to do with it. The battery probably overheated and stopped working. You can try to fix it, or for a cheaper price you can buy the YP-T9, the newest 2 gig model.
I hope this helps!
Hmph. You got me thinking. Well, here are some suggestions:
1)try to re-install samsung multimedia studio.
2)try a different mpeg4 file to convert. If that doesn't work, something is terribly wrong.
3)go to this site:
A download for k-lite codec pack should instantly start.
Hope this works!
If none of these work, then you may just have a virus somewhere.
