Tweak your computer , remove unnecessary programs from control panel, use some antivirus and firewall which comsumes less system resources.

I would suggest also downloading Security Task Manager, as it supplies info of unwanted installed & unshown processes, and gives the rating whether its an adware or safe.

CTRL + ALT + Delete to open the task manager. Go to processes and close some programs that aren't needed.

Increase the life of CRT of a monitor/TV

To increase the life of a picture tube reduce the filament voltage slightly by connecting a 2 watt wire wound resistor in series with the filament supply. The value of the resistor should be chosen experimentally connecting 1 ohm to 4.7 ohms so as to get a fair bright picture. Though startup delay will be there, the color, contrast and clarity of the tube will last double than the normal. I am using a TV for more than 12 years and still the picture clarity is as comparable with a new TV.

Choose a baby monitor

  • Choose a model with a frequency of 900 MHz or higher so that it will reduce the interference and increase the clarity
  • Go wireless
  • A video monitor
  • A model with "low battery" indicator
  • A model with a sound activated light so that it flashes when it detects noise
  • The smaller the receiver, the more you can easily carry it around the house

Can i adjust the fan speed in the bios on my hp zd8000

You don't have to reduce the FAN speed, because the Fan power works in PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). I.E if the CPU processing is increasing due to high process load, the fan speed changes accordingly to maintain a CPU normal temperature.

Our new 6.0 Caller ID phones have an echo. Can you suggest a remedy? John Chalk [email protected]

as per jonniewalker from one of his posts:

"it may be due to interference from electronics devices around you since its a cordless phone ,or your phone is not getting a complete connection, could be one cause,Please try these solutions when you experience echo sound :

- turn the volume down

- turn the "clarity booster" function on the phone

Follow these steps to turn on clarity booster

1) Press menu/del during talk time (while phone is in use).

2) Press ^/vol or vol/v to move the pointer to Clarity Boost, and then select Boost On and "B" appears on the display. To turn Off the Clarity Booster, repeat above step again. check the owners manual for a full description for your model of phone
*Please note: clarity booster turns off automatically at the end of each call.

- make sure the Echo Canceller Circuit (ECC) has been set properly

*The phone should have Echo Canceller Circuit (ECC) built in.

*This means the circuit will study the Voice Level & reduce/cut the echo automatically.

Follow these steps to set the ECC properly

1. Unplug the battery from the handset for a few seconds.

2. Re-plug the battery back into the handset.

3. Make a phone call & at the initial stage speak loudly into the mic. Please note: The ECC will learn at the initial stage only, so after these steps are followed, the ECC will start working properly.or
just a simple pwr cycle ( turning the phone off) can give you a fresh registratoin, this can improve the quality of the call. hope this helps pls do let me know"
