Epson has an interactive troubleshooting guide on their support site. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp From the link above, choose your model printer. You will then be brought to the main page of your printer. Then, click on the "interactive help program" link under the Troubleshooting Guide section. Through this, you will be able to find an article describing what all the indicator lights mean and how to possibly resolve the issues.

The printer is an Epson DFX-8500 dot matrix. It seems to be getting caught on the perforation between pages which causes the forms to wad up . We used to use a 3-part form but now use a 2-part form. ...

It sounds like the stepper motor on the right side may be dirty with paper dust, or the tractor feed may have jumped a notch on one side.

Prints one side faded one sige legible the other side as if the printhead has a problem

Epson Dot matrix DFX 8000

Due to printer head firing is not proper.

The Prnter need servicing and once serviced it will be alright.

Sometimes the Printer Ribbon might have not rotating and the print will not be visible on the left and at right side it is bright.

Better consult the local printer hardware enigneer and settle this iseeu.

Put the original and best gsm paper in the printer, when prining job is iniated.

Re dfx -9000

Please perform the following steps to ensure your printer is physically functioning.

1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the interface cable.
2. Load plain, single part tractor paper into the printer.
3. Press the LOAD/EJECT button while turning on the printer.

NOTE: The self test prints over several pages. After the first or second page has printed, press PAUSE and turn the printer off.

If this self test prints correctly, then the printer hardware is functioning correctly.

>Try printing from other applications.
>Check cables as they can cause communication errors.
>Re-install the driver.
>Go to support.epson.com for more information & documentation.

Epson DFX 8500

the file maybe too big to process, try printing the file in different method, like separating the sequence, divide the prints into parts in this way spooling will be easier and it will be queued anyway and will print, just be mindful of pages and sequence
