Just recently my printer does not print in the middle of any document I attempt to print. It scans fine but leaves a middle streak of non-print. I have enclosed a Printer test page to show what it is doing.

It sounds like you have a clogged printerhead without seeing test page it is always abasic guide. I would thoroughly manually clean all cartridge printheads (whether on the cartridge or the unit) with cotton buds and proper cleaning solution. Try and print once you reset your ink levels. post back if no help.

If you are not using Epson ink, your printer will do this. Epson printers hate knock-off ink. Always use Epson ink if you want to keep your printer working properly. To solve the problem you are having, try cleaning the ink tubes. Make sure you re-install them properly. Hope this helps. Charlene
With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the
driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into
the USB port until told to do so.
To fix a fouled install :
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue
Dear, after changing the cartridge, printer print a test print. OKAY.
Take that test print and put it on the scanner (printed area should on the side of mirror) then press "scan" button on your printer "bottom left".
When the light stop fluctuating. Keep out the paper from the scanner.
After this Printer will work properly
If the line only appears when the scanner is used & not when printing directly from the computer, you are correct in assuming the problem lies in the scanner assy. There should be mirrors attached to the scanner assy which will gather dust and cause copy/scan problems. Remove the glass & clean the mirrors with a DRY cotton cloth. Do not use any cleaning solution on the mirrors as they are sometimes treated & can be ruined if they come in contact with a cleaning solution. Use the dry cloth to wipe off the lens while you have it apart.Also clean both sides of the copy glass while you have it off. Reinstall glass & test.Cleaning the optics solves the problem most of the time. Good Luck!!
