How do i bypass the parking brake feature on my jensen vm9324

Bypassing the EBrake wire is not a good idea. Should you have an accident as a result of watching moving video in the view of the driver (illegal in ALL 50 states) your insurance company will NOT pay the claim. God forbid there is a fatality, then you are going to be charged with Manslaughter as a result of inproper equipment. Best bet is to connect the PINK wire to the vehicle's parking brake.

How do i view video without hooking to brake cable?

If you choose to bypass the parking wire without using a module manufatured for that purpose; try connecting the parking brake to ground and test. If this doesn't work, you make have to use a two wire toggle switch. Connect one side of the toggle switch to ground and the other side to the stereo's parking brake wire. Switching it back and forth will supply the necessary ground for the stereo.

My jensen vm9324 plays dvds but the monitor does not come on, it has the warning screen

Your "Emergency Parking" wire is disconnected. You need to connect it to your parking brake, or you can also connect it to Parking switch if you have automatic transmission. You can play video only when parked

There is a workaround though...

Warning: In most states in US law bill bans drivers from operating televisions and video screens in their line of vision while the vehicle is moving.

Due to the law you can use this workaround at your own risk:

1. You can just ground the parking brake wire to your radio, and you are done.

OR

2. You can adjust factory settings
  • Go to""Setup", and then to "Screen" menu
  • with your remote press 543210, this will show a hidden menu
  • now set the parking brake menu from "off" to "on".and exit the menu
  • NOTE: disconnecting the car battery will reset the code to default "off" state.

Can't get the lock screen to play.

You must hook up the brake wire in this case you'll be available to watch only when the brake is applied or if you want to avoid it, check the local law first about driving wile watching a video, usually in most of the states this is prohibited. After that if you'll like to unlock this is the way;
Just hook up the brake wire to ground (don't do the connection to the brake instead of, connect it to ground) and you will have unlocked the screen at all the times, but it is your responsibility because you may get a ticket for drive wile watching a video.

I can get sound through my radio, but no video to the screens. There was a little black box connected between the screens and the player itself, but that seemed to have disappeared! I think it's like an...

Look on the harness of your video player there will be a wire marked parking brake that has to be hooked to the brake so when the the brake is applied it supplies a ground, you can also ground that wire and you should get a picture.

I have a phase linear uv8035 deck and it won't let me see video.

if the wire(should be pink in color) is hooked to the brake circuit then there is a procedure you must use to watch videos. If the brake is already on when you try to view video, release brake for about two seconds then reapply. If the brake isn't on when you start video apply brake for about two seconds release and then apply brake again.

DP Video car system to play video

look at the install diagram(wiring codes) that came with the unit. if it has a wire that's designated for the parking brake (allowing you to only watch dvds while brake is engage) take that wire and instead of hooking it up to the parking brake, ground it or put an in-line switch between wire and ground so you can turn that function on and off. warning!!! watching while driving is illegal in most states

Bypassing car dvd parking brake

Usually the wire should be grounded. Connect the wire to a ground point via a switch (is illegal to watch TV/DVD while you're driving)

Bypassing the brake wire so i can watch video whenever i want

Hello haehner, Question why would you want to watch a movie while driving? That beeing said this is a tech forum so here goes. Take the brake wire attach it to a switch, take the other endof the switch and attach it to ground. In most cases companies have gotten wise to just grounding the break wire, so they have made it so the feature must be keyed off the break pedal light switch and must be connected, if conected to permanent ground it senses this and shut the unit down anyway, so what you have to do is connect the switch as I told you and try the sequence of on-off-on and this will disable the break feature. Again, don't do this the break wire is a safety feature. Thank you, Shuttle83
