My Vivitar 3105s digital camera keeps shutting itself off after 5 seconds being on and even after putting new lithium batteries in it, why?

My Vivitar 2105s vivicam digital camera doesn't stay on long enough to take a picture or to change a setting. This is even after I bought brand new lithium batteries for it. I'll turn it on and after about 3 seconds, it shuts itself off. Can't even tinker with it to see if maybe it's on a setting that is causing this to happen. The camera was a X-mas gift brand new in the box and it has been barely used. Primarily due to this issue. Please help me.

the reason it turns off in 2-3 seconds is because your not using it during that time and it has very little memory spacing

SOURCE: Need a new battery for Vivitar Vivicam 8300S Digital Camera

I bought a replacement battery for my Vivtar 8300s today at Batteries Plus. If there isn't one near you, go to their website: www.batteriesplus.com Cost was $17.95; they may have to order it from their supplier in New York, but the battery is in their product list. It's Empire model BLI-315.

I HAVE A VIVITAR VIVICAM 3105S DIGITAL CAMERA BUT

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

When I turn my camera on it stays on for a few seconds and then shuts itself off. I even put brand new batteries in it and it does the same thing

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Vivicam 8400

I have a ViviCam 8400 and have the same problem UNLESS I buy Duracell Power Pix or Energizer Titanium batteries. These cost more than the regular grade AA batteries, but when I used brand new regular batteries, the camera would turn on for 2 seconds then turn right off. Titanium or Power Pix batteries make the camera work fine. And, because they are made for digital media, they do allow you to use the camera for longer periods of time.
