Disable Nat TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND

Hi, I have VDSL modem/router and this TP-LINK router. I would like to disable NAT for TP-LINK (switch the device to bridge mode or so) to be able to see all the devices accross the network. Now I can't see devices connected to VDSL if I'm connected to TP-LINK (same address pool, dhcp on tp-link switched off). Please help, thank you.

did you disabled the firewall on the router?

  • Anonymous Mar 07, 2012

no, I didn't, this could help?

  • Tony Mar 07, 2012

well it sounds like your behind two firewalls so you already got a firewall on the 1st router. do you have devices connected on the 1st router which is why you can't see anything on the tp router?

  • Anonymous Mar 07, 2012

connection is following: incoming VDSL line -> VDSL modem/router -> TP-LINK (to LAN port, not WAN port). I can't see devices on VDSL modem/router while I'm connected to the TP-LINK. If I'm connected to the VDSL modem/router, I can c devices on the TP-LINK (Synology DiskStation, etc..) I'll try the FW dissabling on the TP-LINK once I'll b @ home.

Hi, I've finally found some time to test the dissabling the FW and I can say that in my case it helped. I can see now from TP-LINK IP cameras connected to the VDSL modem/router. Well done guys, thank you for your help. Kvinar

Yeap it should be the firewall, here is the manual http://www.tp-link.com/resources/software/201161017075118.pdf
think this should help you.
But if you want my expertise, make the tp-link as a router and vdsl just the internet line. connect it to router wan and buy a switch for all your devices. That should be the safest and smartest way.

yes, that's a possible idea, but my house is quite big and I have only one UTP cable across the house (to connect vdsl with tp-link) and on both places where the routers sit is 2-3 devices needs to be connected via ethernet. And new cables across the house is hard way. Maybe possible idea should be replacing the tp-link with another wifi router, which allows nat disabling. But at first I'll try to disable the FW and if this will not help, I'll look for some stable wifi router w/ nat disabling feature, WiFi "N" and gigabit ports. :)

SOURCE: Need help! Cannot access YAHOO

try power cycle by removing the power of the router for one minute then plug it again. check the cable if all of it tightly connected to the specified port if it is a modem router it should have a 3 cable connected to it Phone line, Ethernet cable and the power adapter. the Ethernet cable should be connect to the back of your tower( computer). check you phone for a dial tone. check the light in the router like dsl , ethernet ,internet and activity. all of these must have a light.

SOURCE: i have a TP-LINK TL-WR940N

I have the same problem. Some people says that its because of interference from other neighbors' wireless signals or any other in the surrounding etc.You can go to Router Properties and change the CHANNEL to 6 or 11 and observe any changes.

First, you need to know what's IP of Router and your Camera (or DVR). Then browse to IP of Router and setting up NAT port (or port redirect. If cannot you can give me your Skype, I will help you more then here.

How many access point can bridge with tl-wr941nd router

Depends on the access point, and how you configure it. If your access point can do NAT, then theoretically you could have up to 255 access points, each managing their own private network, and connecting to your router on whatever its current subnet is. But, if like most home setups, you just are looking to extend distance capability, then your limit, as a practical matter, is 255 minus the total number of devices you intend to reach. So... if you have 20 devices on the network, you could have 235 access points. Silly, yes, but you could.

As a REAL practical matter, however, consider that the throughput of the main router, the TP-LINK you cite, can probably only handle 20 or 25 TOTAL devices before it slows down to a point of being unusable.

First check the all connection, your LAN connector .

Then Go to My Network Places and right click and select properties. Highlight your connection and look in the lower left at the Details information. Does the address look appropriate for your network, and does it say Assigned by DHCP or something else.

otherwise you should contact internet provider..

I'm using TP-LINK TD-W8101G ADSL Modem Router to connect internet, I'm trying to connect it with Linksys WRT120N Router Wirelessly. I want to use WRT120N as access point to extend TP-LINK...

Unfortunately, you can't use two routers together in that manner. You must have a device in between them such as a switch or bridge or you'll have to disable the DHCP server settings in the second router. The second router then pretty much becomes a switch you may then use all the ports on the second router with the exception of the WAN port it must remain unoccupied. However, if you need wireless connectivity in another location far away from your main router then your only solution would be to indeed purchase an actual access point/bridge device

You do not need the software that comes with any modem:

Reset the router:

To restore the factory default configuration settings without knowing the administration password

or IP address, you must use the reset button on the rear panel of the router.

1. Press and hold the reset button until the Power LED turns red (about 6 seconds).
2. Release the reset button and wait for the router to reboot.

To log in to the modem router:
1. Type http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of an Internet browser.
Enter admin for the user name and password for the password, both in lower case letters.

NAT automatically assigns private IP addresses (10.1.1.x) to

LAN-connected devices.

? Enable. Usually NAT is enabled.

? Disable. This disables NAT, but leaves the firewall active.

Disable NAT only if you are sure that you do not require it.

When NAT is disabled, only standard routing is performed

by this router. Classical routing lets you directly manage the

IP addresses that the DG834G v4 uses. Classical routing

should be selected only by experienced users*

? Disable Firewall. This disables the firewall in addition to

disabling NAT. With the firewall disabled, the protections
