It is required to get the BIOS and the Video Driver Updated in the Computer to resolve the issue.

The BIOS Update and Video Driver Update are available at Sony Support Site for download.

You can view and download the BIOS Update from this link

Before installing the BIOS update, be sure the computer is running from AC power. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all.

During the installation of this update:

• Do not turn the computer off.
• Do not allow the computer to enter Standby or Hibernation states.
• Do not start other programs.
• Do not connect any peripherals.

Download the AIBSYS-00772903-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory.

Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the "AIBSYS-00772903-US.EXE" file to begin the installation.

At the "BIOS Update Utility for Microsoft® Windows® XP" box, click "Next".

At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Please wait while the utility extracts the necessary files for the update.

At the "VAIO BIOS Update Tool 1.0.01.10181" box, click "Update".

At the "WBFLASH" box, click "OK".
NOTE: Please wait while the utility updates the BIOS.

At the "WBFLASH" BIOS Update successfully completed box , click "OK" to shutdown the computer.

After the computer shuts down, wait for a few seconds, and then power on the computer.
After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS Update is complete.

After installing the BIOS Update, it is required to Update the Video Driver to resolve the issue.

Download the ATDVID-00610812-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).

Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the ATDVID-00610812-US.EXE file to begin the installation.

Then, please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

After installing the Video Driver Update, please restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.

Performing the above steps should fix the issue.



If the issue is not resolved, please check if the Vertical lines and discoloration are visible while accessing the BIOS Setup Utility.

To access the BIOS Window, please restart the Computer, press and hold the F2 Key to access the BIOS Setup Utility.

If the lines and discoloration are available on the BIOS Setup Utility window, the issue may be related to the LCD Screen of the Computer and you will need to get the Computer serviced to fix it.

In that case, you can contact Sony Service Center get the Computer serviced and resolve the issue.

if you have a motherboard driver cd try to install from it or else search in the company website of asus to get the driver for the operating system you want .sometimes driver may not installing since you installed the driver which is not supported in that case uninstall any drivers installed for audio and install the recommended driver

If your over clocking your CPU settings reset to default. See if you still get the error. If you still get the error than update your bios. There are a couple of way to do this. You can use the software on your Asus CD or you can down load the latest BIOS-Utilities, Afudos BIOS update tool V2.36. Than download the bios file, P5PE-VM BIOS 1501.

Since you didn't spell Mercury correctly I'm going to assume that it was a mistake to place the ' G " in PIG as the only thing I can find that looks like your system is the PI865GVM-L version 3.00 at this Mercury motherboard website http://www.mercury-pc.com/downloads_list.php?productid=425. I have a strong feeling this is what you are looking for but I tried the bios update file as a download and it seems to be inoperative at the time I tried it. Make sure you verify the version of whatever you download is correct and proper for YOUR motherboard, else you might lose some functionality even with very similar boards.
