The touchscreen on my Garmin 2720 stopped working all of a sudden, and I have tried to do a master reset, but it still does't want to work. I can still use the remote control for it, but it is time consuming. Is there any way I can recalibrate the touchscreen with the remote? Or, is there anything else I can try without having to send it to Garmin?
Ive had the same issue with the touchscreen working when it wants to.Just sent it bak to Garmin..it was on the last week of warrenty :) ,,This was a refurb replacement of my 2610.. I use mine 5 days a week ,,, Garmins customer service has been great ,,BUT this is getting to be a pain,,,,,,,

You need to recalibrate the touchscreen. Try this: Turn off the Nuvi. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then push down on the power button to turn the unit on. Release the power button when the Garmin logo appears. Continue to press on the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the calibration screen.
Go through the entire procedure of pressing each dot as it appears on the screen.
Once completed the Nuvi will display Calibration Complete This will recalibrate your touchscreen to the LCD display.
If this doesn't resolves your problem. then your touchscreen may be defective.
My touchscreen on Garmin nuvi 1390 not working too and .calibration it's help alsoI did twice hard reset my GPS Garmin Nuvi 1390 and nothing happening and after I tried different trick, when I turned GPS off I hold the top left corner screen. The screen exchange for calibrations and I pressed several times according request and my GPS Garmin Nuvi 1390 started work, but repairing company wanna charge me $100 Canadian dollars.I didn't connect GPS to computer
try connecting it to a computer to power up, and if that doesnt work press and hold in the lower right had corner of the touchscreen and then power the unit on, this is called a master reset and should help.
Power the StreetPilot off (ensure that it is not connected to external power) Touch-and-hold your finger in the lower right corner of the Touchscreen... Power the StreetPilot on... Continue to hold your finger there until "Erase all user date?" appears... Remover finger from the Touchscreen... Touch "Yes"
If this doesn't work check to see if your item is still under warranty. If not I can provide you with a place that fixes gps' relatively inexpensively. Hope this helps.
Call Garmin at 1-800-800-1020 or 913-397-8200 and describe the problem to them. They may have you try one or two things but will probably issue you an RMA and have you ship the unit to them for repair or replacement. It is well within the warranty period(1 yr) so this should be painless.
Try reseting the nuvi, there is a reset button on the bottom or on the back, some models have it on the front under the display cover.
if that doesn't help the digitizer which is the part on top of the lcd display that registers the touch could have failed and may need to be replaced.
I haven't seen many garmin repairers, you might have to get in touch with garmin about it, check ebay for replacement parts but if I remember correctly garmin takes care of it and don't distripute much parts.
