I have had my camera for about 9 months without any problems whatsoever, but now, seemingly without any outside influence, it won't turn on anymore. I have no idea what happened to it, because i was keeping very close track of it and it wasn't dropped or anything. It won't turn on or charge or anything. What happened and how can i fix it?

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.
i have a nikon s570 that is about 18 months old. (not under warantee anymore) it won't turn on, so we bought a brand new battery, charged it and it still won't turn on. Nothing. no motor noise, no lights, nothing. any ideas? nikon wants us to send it to them for evaluation and fixing....any thoughts?
Try cleaning the contacts from the battery and the battery compartment
of the camera. I had the same problem, used a cotton swab to clean and this fixed it, it seems to be
a common problem.

A bit late, but hey, better late than never, right?
I had exactly the same problem. Turned out it was my batteries!
When I use Philips Powerlife batteries I experience no problems whatsoever. Any other batteries don't seem to work as well. Apparently there are differences between the various AA-type batteries.
Lemme know if that solved your problem, please. t u r r e b o a t g m a i l d o t c o m
