My tv remote control slowly stopped working and I resorted to using the controls on top of the TV which gave me limited control - channel and volume. The problem started with the tv slow to respond to the remote control signals about 12 months ago and then the remote stopped working altogher. The buttons on top of the tv for changing channel and volume worked for a further 12 months but have now stopped working at all. I have tried a one for all remote as well but this does not work either - problem seems to be with the remote control receiver or something. There are no picture problems. The control batteries are okay and it works on another Philips TV I have. Anyone got any ideas?
We had this problem with a 28PW6515. The control would work for 30 seconds after switching on, then nothing. It was diagnosed as the "glue chip" which handles all the control functions. About £200 to fix it as it's a surface mount chip.
