Last night I was playing with the remote for my GE Guide Star Television. I made the screen totally black by lowering the colors etc. I accidently dropped my remote and the TV turned off. So now when I turn it on I have a black screen because I cannot see where I am in order to get back to the menu to fix the screen. Please advise me on what to do. Is there a reset button or something I can press to make the screen go back to its original way?

Re:
I hope this is the case, some tv's have screen and focus controls accessible from the back ,you can't miss them as you look at set from the back they should be in the right side,if you have access to them turn the bottom one to the right and remember how much you move it,this will aloow to see soemthing in the screen so you can put everything back to where it was, when you are done the picture will look too bright with lines the you turn the screen control to the left to make it perfect. You dont have to remove the back cover.I hope it works.

the display of ur laptop has got damaged....if u still have doubt that it might be some software problem try formatting ur system.. Or else u should go for a change of display screen
I had the same problem on my TV (Nontaus N5119A). As suggested above, I switched the TV, pressed and held the 'Display' button for about 10 seconds and TV unlocked.
Thanks a lot for posting the solution. Much appreciated.
thanks for your detailed description of what happened.
replacing the vertical output i.c will correct the problem.
the reason it failed was bad connections on it.
