This is becomming a reoccuring problem with my RT 2280 (i am aware its not the same model) i recently hooked it up and it worked like a dream, then after powering it up one time the display of what speakers ar hooked up began flashing along with the sound it was outputting. this began a day after i hooked my ps2 up, so i unplugged and replugged everything. got it to work for awhile, then it started agian just after i started to use my portable CD player adapther agian. i repated previous mentioned steps to no luck. and am at a loss as to what to do with this p. o. s. system. it should be noted that i use mixed speakers with this system and that my be the problem, but i dont see how. please post or email any and all sugestions [email protected]
SOURCE: no sound
Blinking LEDs indicate a problem with outputs. Or speaker impedences are too low (below 4 Ohm)
SOURCE: rt2280 no power up, no display, standby light works
Might be the relay on the power board that stands up just behind the big transformer. I has a complete no power also, I shorted out the relay legs on the black one, it started to work again. I will probably replace it, since the problem started by the system shutting off randomly.
SOURCE: when i unplug my rca rt2250 home theater system.
this is the amp IC and while unplugging and plugging it in again helps reset the IC for a little while , it will eventually completely quit and will need replaced
make sure that none of the speaker wires(bare wires) are touching or look like they might be where they are connected at
also if turning up the volume makes it cut out or sound bad then this will also indicate a bad amp IC
